This would not have been the reaction if result of the election which brought him to power had been slightly different.
I second, third, forth or nth the motion to move to elections. Indeed I have established the official oppostion to the President (endorsed by PResident Peregrin) at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A625493
Join me in a democratic attempt to overthrow the despot.

I hope the President will accept my resignation from my cabinet position, effective now, so that I can go and work for the opposition.

Demon Drawer Posted Aug 20, 2002
I'm sure he will Krans. Welcome on board.

Peter aka Krans Posted Aug 20, 2002
So how do we go about organizing new elections? How was it done last time?

Demon Drawer Posted Aug 20, 2002

Hmm, do you think anyone will mind if I leave opposition ministers in the cabinet for now? Today is one of the rare occasions I can get online, and I don't want people getting annoyed at me for leaving them IN the cabinet - I've had enough of people getting annoyed at me for NOT putting them in the cabinet, which is half of what all this is about. If I'm not online regularly, I can't update these things.
So, if nobody minds too much, I'll give all my cabinet ministers leave to join the opposition, as long as they don't mind still being listed as my ministers until the opposition is in power. The only viable alternative is to sack the entire cabinet at once (Moscow style ) which I think would upset even more people

Demondrawer where can we see a brief concise bitesize with no extra chunks overview of you policies and promises?
Motion for h2g2 Elections
Demon Drawer Posted Aug 20, 2002
Well my original manifesto for the election 2 years ago is here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A382682
But this is an organic piece of literature and will need revising in light of the 2 years of development that the community has undergone since then. I will be working on it shortly, but in the meantime we are opposed to the lacklustre preformance that is being carried out by the current incumbant at the Alabaster house.

There is no such thing as a 100% efficient government anyway....
Motion for h2g2 Elections
Demon Drawer Posted Aug 20, 2002
Yeah but 0% needs some sort of sorting out of the people, for the people, by the people. Never in the history of government has so much been promised, by so many for so few.

I think that at the moment our aim should not be to oppose the current leadership in favour of anybody, but merely to arrange for new elecions to happen, whereupon we should accept new candidacies: after all, quite a lot of things have happened and quite a lot of new (and keen) users have joined since the previous elections.

Demondrawer that speech souded suspicously wrong? Surely the majority is by an enormous stroke in the hands of the general users.
I agree with Krans I think we should set about with new elections.
