Hm - Either Christi Himmelfahrt (Asencionday - no, that was earlier, sometime last month, before asencion day) Then it is Frohnleichnahm (Or Happy Cadaver, as we like to call it...)

This months good for bank holiday. The best place to live is in Augsburg. they have the 11 (or was it 12?) Bank Holidays, plus a day off for the "Stadtfest" Town-whatsits... The avrage german has 29 days of holidays a year, plus the bank holidays and 52x2 days for the weekend, leaves you aprox:365-144=221 days of w*rk per year (or 220, if you happen to live in Augsburg)Good eh? smiley - smiley

I guess there is no safer place than this dark corner. Anyone trying to do anything should have encountered a blackout by now... It's a miracle though how the drink keeps flowing! smiley - cheers

smiley - bigeyes no miracle that. A simple physical process, pressurised barrels and all that. Our resident Dinosaur takes care of all that.

That is why I am Englander and not "Germen"

Yes, yes, in the old days we had a way of saying things in German here, using only english words. That was fun: like

Ha stew mall I nay Mark damn it we run set was zoo a zen cow fenn?

(have you got a Mark so we can buy ourselves something to eat?
