Crossed Purposes: September 2001 of our discontent...
Bluebottle Posted Sep 28, 2001
Isle of Wight & Beatles Connections:
The Isle of Wight's mentioned in "When I'm 64"
Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear,
We shall scrimp and save,
Grandchildren on our knee,
Vera, Chuck and Dave.
As well as 3 of the Beatles attending the Isle of Wight Pop Festival (no Paul), John Lennon once hitchhiked to Ryde, and worked for the summer there in a cafe, and admitted that that is where the inspiration for "Ticket To Ride" came from.

*E has a look around the pub. There are the first signs of October comeing. Some leaves are falling from the windowsill, and the colour of the sun setting through the window out west turns the wood around the room to this wonderful orangebrown colour, leaving long shadows of candles falling onto the walls...*
Hm. This couch looks rather lonely...
*Sits down, and takes one of the magazines lying at the side...*

Autumn is already here...
I'm still waiting for the famous polish Golden Autumn, which is really beautiful, but methinks - no chance this year, cause September was sooo cold...
Hi Egon! happy to see u back with us...
Miss D - thanks for the wishes - I do hope I'll get some more free time soon.
As for your England trip - if possible, go to Ireland, too... It is really beautiful, and the Kilkenny part is smashing... and those ... YUMMY!
Okay, okay, I do remember you don't drink, Dragonfly
*Kasia hands Dragonfly some fresh Chocmilk*
Engländer? Why are you sitting so alone on this couch? Come and join me for an Irish or do you prefer a ?
And of course - I will open the October thread, don't worry. Methinks, we must slowly, slowly start to think about our Halloween party, what do you all think?
Did anyone see Kes?? Is he on vacation or what is going on? I miss him...
And Mari-Rae.. where is she??

Yes, A would be great...
*Moves over to Kasia...*
I was asking myself, too, where Marirae´s got to. She´s not been here for ages...
Crossed Purposes: September 2001 of our discontent...
Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer... Posted Sep 29, 2001
Mari-rae is busy irl but still alive and kicking
What is all this talk about autumn, it's spring down here
Crossed Purposes: September 2001 of our discontent...
Bluebottle Posted Sep 29, 2001
Leaves are falling off the trees, so either the cat's stuck up the tree again, or it's autumn.
Nothing like an English Oak in Autumn. Apart from when the hurricaine/tornado/gale comes and knocks it down.

There´s a row of trees (It think they´re some kind of maples) in the village next to ours. When they turn yelloworangered, I know autumn has come...

I think Plato is stuck in one of the trees!!!
Kasia, I hope this trip to England won't be my only one to the UK, and if I'm lucky, some day after I see New Zealand, Australia, England a second time, the UK, and India, I'll visit more of Europe; St. Petersberg especially, and my friends in Europe hopefully!!!
DO BE DO BE DO!!!
I LOVE FALL!!!
BRONCOS GAME TOMORROW!!!

Hi everyone!
*Wonders whether she should tell E that Plato has returned and is currently curled up on the couch*
Yes Linus is right. Mari is busy in RL but tells me that she hopes to be back soon(ish).
It's nice to see that everyone missed me!
*Tries to hide her dented ego*
I've been tied up (I wish) with working in my local Red Cross charity shop where they're very short staffed and college in real life. Whilst in the evenings, my teenage-mutant-sulk-a-lot of a daughter hogs the computer...
It's definitely autumn here because our yard is rapidly filling with fallen leaves and I'll be out there with (not "on" as some would probably like to add) my broom!
Incidentally, the UK has gale force winds forecast for next week, so baton down the hatches and hibernate.

" Gwennie, Seth, E, Linus, Kasia, Lady D, et al. Last day of September, time to start planning for the Halloween party methinks."
"BTW Seth, Builder Bob bit the bullet. NRB'd 4 weeks ago. Just as well as he had truly gone bush and it was costing him a fortune."

Well, it´s Kasia´s turn to start the apropriate threads, me thinks.
I want a . Anyone wanting to try my homebrew will have to wait another two weeks (German saying: Hint with the fencepost)
