h2g2 Realisation: 3D Models
Chris Tonks Posted Oct 11, 2000
Bio-science! Great! If we can get a modeller, we can have loads of his 'products' running around...
You're right, my space station is already coming along nicely...my new texture file is already bursting to the seams with my new work...
*ponders...*
I'll need to have a word with Alien, get her to help us out with her space centre...

Hey guys, how be things?
Look, as most of you should know, I'm a very busy person in RL (just head over to my User Page to see my project list!). And unfortunatly, with me being in Year 11 at school (you know, GCSE's, coursework, the lot), and me writing my book ever more frequently, I am sadly unable to cope with another commitment.
Therefore, I am obliged to hand over management of this Realisation Project to someone else, preferably someone who can map for Half-Life!
If anyone here is interested in taking over the role of Project Manager, please say so in this thread, or the others I've posted this message to. I will make the decision in due course.
I will still be a part of this project, and will eventually map out the Space Station and my other creations, but the managment itself must be surrendered.
Again, if you know *anyone* who plays or develops for Half-Life, tell them to come along to this page, as we still can't get ths project underway with insufficient people!
Thankyou.

Yeah, fine, tell me about it by e-mail, why don't you.
I'll take it over for now. Big C, I'll be grateful if you would send me the various bits you've done, zipped up.
I'll need you to keep this article updated, though...

Hell, sorry - you know I've had a lot on my mind recently, and I didn't get round to telling you...
I can't send you anything at present, because all I've done so far is the stuff on my Space Station, and I'm still keeping hold of that, as I said...
And as far as this page goes, you are free to copy the code, and make your own article of it - I'm afraid I don't have time to do anthing related to H-L. I'll get the things you wanted done for GameMapping finished, but I'm afraid I can do no more...
I've got new responsibilities now...

The problem is that I can't copy the code... 'cos you're the only one who has access to it.
Couldn't you just copy and paste it into a txt file, then e-mail it to me?
I'm sorry to be a pain...

Okay, this project is now under my management, in association with Game Mapping UK (www.gamemapping.co.uk).
I really want to hear from anyone here who can use Worldcraft, 3D Studio Max, C++, or is any good at texturing.
The advantage of having the Half-Life Realisation Project working with a mapping site is threefold, I feel:
(1) We will be able to get more interest in h2g2 from outside.
(2) We will be able to have the maps available to download from a public site.
(3) We will be able to have h2g2 specific textures there for everybody invloved in the project to download.
If anyone has any strong feelings about this, I'd be grateful if they'd tell me.
