Think the Beatles were so different and ground-breaking. I recentkly saw a thing on tv where they said that the beatles didn't just use one or two types of music to influence them, but lots. Think they used rock/pop like Elvis and Buddy Holly, classical, 50's dance swing type stuff and even church music.

Firstly it as to be frank sinatra followed by the beatles thirdly elvis .I do think elvis of 56/58 was a special era .
Anyway back to the beatles they changed their style from the early days of rock and roll to something nobody else had tried around the time of revolver .even though theres signs of their style changing in rubber soul tracks like in my life for instance .

I only know a few of their songs, from what I gather they did good feel good music but not exactly ground breaking stuff. I may be wrong though

Then either this thread should be renamed and we start a new thread for joining ('cos this is surely gonna confuse people who want to join, 141 posts and only 9 members :S) or we should just stop talking on this thread, I say we go for the former as this conversation doesn't seem to be stoppable - then again that'd mean whoever runs the site changing some script

I don't think we can change the title of this thread, we can create a new thread saying "Join here, ignore the other thread with this title as it has drifted quite considerably from its topic"

Subject changed...though I don't know if it'll appear from the outside like this.

Whoo!!! Can I join???
When I was in grade 9-11 I was a huge Beatles fan... I listened to very little else(although I did like other music).
I still love the Beatles, I just don't listen to as much music in general. And I agree that Elvis isn't all that great.
I also love things like Jethro Tull, Roxy Music, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and The Who. As well as other types of music that may not fit into this thread.
