Me too..... I've been to mini meets four times the size in fact... if not more. talking of which, there may very well still be a mini meet on the cards for the following weekend of the 8th, as sat 8th is like the day before my barth-day... errr birthday and rewight newar some others researchers b-Days too
Err should I make an annoucement then kinda offically to say its been nighthoove, I mean canciled?

I won't be coming due to financial restraints.

I'm seriously skint due to my younger son having the nerve to become another year older, thus losing me £50.00 a week Family Tax Credit That loss in income is biting seriously deeply into basics like food and heating, never mind important things like fun, frivolity and beer. And I really can't face asking my sons to give me extra pocket money when we're all struggling, it doesn't seem fair, really.

I have a nasty feeling that I won't be able to do the unofficial minimeet on the 8th for much the same reasen, either, so I'm cancelling my birthday this year due to lack of akkers.

That's a shame, though it's true it was looking increasingly small.

I've arranged to stay with my granny, so I'll probably be in the country. (I may not be in the country, as I haven't bought by tickets yet.) If I am around, is it worth turning up?

Well that depends on if you think it is worthwhile, and if anyone else still wishes to go, but its certainly looking 6 people or less which, well is less than most mini meets I've been to, so
If there is any significent interest at all in having another meet I'll arrange it as per useual, but if its goign to stay at this kind of level I can't see the point. when there is half a dozen people we useually manage to arrnage it by just a single thread and people E-mailing each other, and just saying when and where they'll be... If meets for the main meets are falling this low, I'd be inclined to just gor for more, smaller local/regional mini meets, like the scottish researchers group, or as for the Torquay meet last weekend or any of the numbrous times a while back when I'd just pop to London and meet up with Roymondo RF MMF et al...

I've got to be frank it doesn't really seem worth the effort to me when there are going to be so few people there.

Maybe we should look to the summer instead ?

My thoughts too, go aor a summer meet I wwasn't ever really in favour of Autuminal meets.. Winter made more sense to me... Though I know some people foun dit difficult with em being near Xmas, but then there is always times of years that suit some and not other... just a pity we can't get the numbers/interest we once did

i will do my utmost to attend a spring meet, but it's now clear that i will definitely not be able to come saturday

As long as the summer meet doesn't clash with my hen night and lose me half the hens!

Well As those who've commented on seem to broadly agree that it looks like its a non goer, I'll put soemthign to that effect on the meet page, on the atendee list page, and in the tag line of my username. Then I'll put a journal entry up as a kinda 'official' announcement of its canciling.... :- Sorry for anyone who's already bought tickets, hope that doesn't affect anyone, I just want tto make sure everyone knows its not happening.
Of course, peopel are still more than able to arrange a mini meet on teh date if they're goign to be there anyhow due to having bought tickets or some such, but that will have to be organised amongst the interested partys themselves.

I've amended the meet page, and attendee list page, to reflect that this meet is now canceled.

I've let the conversation threads active on the meet sit for a few days and no one seemed overly bothered weather it happened or not, and no imminant rescue of it seemed likely, so now seems as good a point as any to make the cancelation of the meet 'semi official' as it is; hopefully everyone who was then planning on attending will be made awar eof the change in circumstances.

After having updated the atendee list we were down to five people.

I've wrote conformation of the canceling of the meet into my tag line, into the meet page itself, the atendee list page, and in this thread.

I will also announce it in other threads in which the meet is being discussed, as well as the London meet Journal, in order to attempt to ensure as many people as possible are informed of its canceling and so don't turn up to be met with an empty pub.
