h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I want to attend this shenanagan. So what's going on? We have a venue, but no time. There are rumours of an afternoon event, but nothing actually planned. And no one's coming. Is anything happening at all?

Looks like my first ever h2g2 meet is going to be a bit of a wash out. Ah well ... it gets me out of the office.

Well hardly anyone has signed up, ther eare eight on the list at the moment, and two of them have asked to be removed, if not three. With so few people and my just having lost my job I doubt I'll be able to attend now, no one showed any interest wahtsoever in having an afternoon meet, and basically everyont seems absolutely apathetic about the whole thing... So I think now it ends up with even less pople signed up than actually voted for that date of this Saturday, even though quite a few were to have said they were able to have made it the following weekend (which worked out a lot better for me too) Don't know what else to do.

I've amended the meet page, and attendee list page, to reflect that this meet is now canceled.

I've let the conversation threads active on the meet sit for a few days and no one seemed overly bothered weather it happened or not, and no imminant rescue of it seemed likely, so now seems as good a point as any to make the cancelation of the meet 'semi official' as it is; hopefully everyone who was then planning on attending will be made awar eof the change in circumstances.

After having updated the atendee list we were down to five people.

I've wrote conformation of the canceling of the meet into my tag line, into the meet page itself, the atendee list page, and in this thread.

I will also announce it in other threads in which the meet is being discussed, as well as the London meet Journal, in order to attempt to ensure as many people as possible are informed of its canceling and so don't turn up to be met with an empty pub.
