AEndr, The Mad Hatter

I am very glad to find that logo/web-turtle link
I am a Guide leader and am going to be helping run a cyber cafe for the county international camp in August
one activity for the girls will be to try for their computer badge stage 2 (stage one requires a three month diary - not something to be done in a day1) One of the optional (pick 2 of 5) clauses is "use LOGO or a similar package to control a turtle to follow a predetermined route". We had given up on that one due to lack of turtle and also lack of flat floor surface, limiting their choices to 2 of 4, but now you've shown me a good alternative to a real turtle, we'll still have that option in there.
Thank you
(have some cake, and a piece of Kitty cake, though don't eat the latter yourself)
Ændr

Thank you Ændr. Glad to have been of use. Lego Mindstorms is also an option if you want something real. You could build a simple robot vehicle for the girls to program. Unfortunately the Mindstorms kit is nearly £200.

I really must finish that article -- I might get round to it this weekend but the weather is promising to be nice for a change.

Thanks for the cake. I'll look after the Kitty cake (I've run out of pigeon sandwiches and I can't make any more until I establish whether the green bird is a pigeon (legitimate military target) or a budgie (collateral damage).

Incidentally, can you help with this problem? http://www.h2g2.com/FLR25788?thread=63342&skip=20&show=20&latest=1
You will need to scroll back a couple of days to get the full picture. If so, you might want to leave Kitty loose in the bar of the F&F to deter enthusiastic strangers while you're over in the cafe.

An attack on the Aroma Cafe by S.T.U.M.P.E.D. You may have to scroll back a couple of pages.

Me, on the dark side? Never. I am a good ant even if a bit feisty at times.

I'll keep an eye on things. They're on American time so nothing is likely to happen before this evening.

and of course the caching system then makes it impossible for me to get onto h2g2 for 2 days

It was a complete anticlimax anyway. Iceraven had to go to a birthday party and half the villains didn't turn up so S.T.U.M.P.E.D. is rescheduling their attempt to steal the IIEM.
