Don't worry Thistle, I promise to buy you at least one drink (even though I'm going to be flat broke myself)

I hope to be there - but I can't promise - I might have to work backshift on the 5th. I should know one way or the other by the middle of next week. I'll keep watching the postings for meeting info.

I will try to be in Edinburgh failry early, as in about noon or something, and I will have my mobile along with me. I still haven't decided if I'm going to take my car or if I'm going to take the train to get there (most likely the train), but I'll be there.
Anyone need a contact number, just give me a shout, either in here, or in a mail to [email protected]. I will be checking the mail and the forums until around 3:30 pm friday afternoon. After that, I'll simply post my mobile number here on the forum.

just a note for any of you wanting to try and park in Edinburgh...
the chance of you finding a spot in th centre of town is thin, especially saturday afternoon. you are more likely to get a place either in the St. James's Car park or the Car Park beside the station... I'll post details how to get there if anyone needs....

St. James' Car Park is the one on the other side of the Castle hill from Waverly, isn't it? Or am I totally confused?

Fashion Cat Posted Jul 31, 2000
I think you're thinking of Castle Street Car park...
To get to the St. James Car Park you drive along Queen Street
PRINCES ST
ROSE ST (small road)
GEORGE STREET
another small road which i cant remember the name of
QUEEN STREET
because of the new set up you have to come along Queen Street, so I'd recomend you try St. James car park first... It might be an idea to have a look at a map, possibly on the web...

Hmmmm.. I think I'll just take the train...

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Jul 31, 2000
I think the train is probably the best idea - as Oscar Wilde once said, "There is only one thing worse than driving in Edinburgh, and that's driving in Glasgow."
Well, he didn't say that, but he would have done if he'd ever tried it.
By the way, I think someone, somewhere, way back in the mists of time and fora decided on 2pm for the meeting time, but I'm sure we can change that if it doesn't suit...

Where about, and shall we carry a copy of Dirk Gently for identification?

I second Babel-17's idea - the Gardens side of the Scott Monument. Hopefully my h2g2 t-shirt will have arrived by then, which should aid with identification...

If the sunlight gleaming off my scalp isn't enough to identify me, I hope to be wearing a "Willow" tee-shirt... ("That's right, big boy, come and get it...")

You.. that was.. that was.. a Buffy quote!
Sorry, I get somewhat excited when I find fellow fans
Nope, I can't resist- "I personally will be wearing pink taffeta as chenille will not go with my complexion!". Sorry.
Actually, I will be wearing a Classic Goo Blue t-shirt and a denim jacket complete with Tweetie badge.
And I'll post my mobile number up here too, cos I probably won't get there before 3.

Are we talking fashion now? Then I'm way out of my league.
Anyways, I'll probably be wearing a Goo-blue Puma (big Puma logo all over the chest) T-shirt that will most likely be covered by a Scottish Claymores Jersey with a big "99" on both the front and back.
Garden side of the Scott Monument, I'll try to be there before 2pm and I'll bring my mobile.

I'll be wearing whatever falls out of my wardrobe in the morning. I like to be random.
Just been told by my doctor that I have to stay off alchohol for a while. Poot. Looks like I have a blood-sugar problem. Perfect timing.
Look for the crumpled 24 year old looking parched and desperate

I'll probably look embarassingly like your dad. Watch out for a crumpled old guy with grey hair and a beard. Actually I'm only 19, but I've had a hard life...
