Oh, it's raining. That makes a nice change!

Good things come from rain:

Flowers and plants need rain,
The water supply needs rain,
But best of all is on those cold windswept cloudless winter days (you know the ones that happen in the middle of June)you can say "at least it isn't raining" to the groans of everyone around you.

Flowers and plants can bog off. My floors get filthy when it rains cos the bleeders never wipe their sodding feet!

And there's me thinking that flowers and plants have roots......

On the pluss side;
On a clear day I can see the coast if I climb the tree at the bottom of my garden, the coast can only be about thirty-odd miles away

Whatever happened to good old fashioned black coffee?
It all seems to be that yuky frothy stuff now and boy do you get a strange look when you ask for a black coffee strong enough to stand the spoon up in.
And no matter how many times you state “black coffee” they still ask if you want milk with it..

not here they don't - they ask you if you want a brandy with it - at 9 in the morning! I don't know how they manage to work!
