Cachaca! Yes, know I remeber, thanks Goof.
Well, this Pisco Sour sounds really dangerous for me, so I think I'll stay with my Caipirinha - it's safer *grin*
How long have you been in Ecuador?
Has someone another good recipe for a funky drink? I'll be running The Crossed Purposes Pub in the Village de la Vavoom (the name could of course change, I don't know by now), so I'm looking for advices.

I was in Latin America for a year. I started in Mexico and travelled down to Chile stopping anywhere I felt like along the way. That was about 3 years ago but I'm sure the Caipirnhas are still as good now.
Will you be alowing Drinking games in the Crossed Purposes Pub?

They are games that people play while drinking alcoholic drinks. Either the winner or loser drinks (this depends on who wants to get drunk or not) normally this would be the winner. The outcome of this is usually that the more you win the harder it is to win and everyone should up drunk. Sometimes these games are fun, sometimes your worst nightmare.
Maybe it's not a good idea in a quiet village pub.

Sounds.. erm.. interesting, but I'm not sure, if Mari-Rae or the other ladies will be very glad of this, I must check it.
But - as they are very fond of young men - I think a strip-drinking they would enjoy *hehehe*

I know the conversation has moved onto drinking games now, but Kasia, my dreads are only just brushing my shoulders, and still look fuzzy. My hair was dead straight down to below my shoulder blades, which is why I'm a bit disapointed.

Mina, sorry, I forgot to answer your last question. I live in Watford (well, Oxhey Hall to be exact) I think there is actually an official town cried here but I may have made that up. You should probably try your own luck at the Casino. A few pounds can rapidly grow and if it doesn't then you've only lost a few pounds, providing you've got the self control so stop, or someone to stop you.
I'd be happy to chuck money at you, are 5 and 10 pence pieces okay?

5 and 10ps are perfectly acceptable.
I would need to take someone to stop me, as I have absolutely no willpower, and would end up losing not only the shirt off my back, but the shirts off everyone elses backs.

But gamble gives you a real kick!
Did you ever try the horse racing? I must admit, I don't understand an inch of it, but it was fun. And I won a bit, so it was okay.

Mina, Kasia, this thread seems to have drifted more than normal. May I suggest that we relocate here http://h2g2.com/A410301 so we don't scare any prospective new members of the Classic Goo Fan Club.
I'm the only one there at the moment but it's the perfect place for random conversations and long threads. I'm particularly keen on any good horse racing tips, Kasia.
It's also the perfect place to send messages after an evening at the pub as there is no obligation that anything makes sense. Any topic of conversation will be welcomed and there are no rules bar one. If you finish a bottle then it's you who finds the next one.
Well, I'll either see you there, back here or in the Village of Vavoom. I hear they need a doctor.

Eck-tually Doc, I myself have nearly been killed on numerous occasions, all beyond my control at the time and the only thought I had at the moment and could vocalize was, "Awww sh*t." No exclamation or vehemence either, just like yours. Also having been witness to a couple of deaths, beyond the control of the people it happened to at the time. I can tell you that, "Awww s**t" is the thing people are most likely to say in this instance and should they survive for a short period of time, they are most likely to call for their mothers, regardless of how macho they are.

One place that I think the Goo Fan Club should link to is the Union of Fish page, which supports classic goo in the same way that the save the fish campaign does.

It's planning on awarding medals to fish friendly pages.

Hi Bluebottle,
that's a great idea, I'm sure Mina will add this link at the main page.

I did have a fishy link, but a different one. I've added it now, make sure that you let everyone know that the Fan Club is a safe place for fishies.
