How can I become a lifeguard?! Say, the Greek God lifeguard who sits in his tower while all the women gather around?? ... hehe. Anyway, what kind of training is involved?

Wow - a lifeguard volunteer! I haven't had one of those for a while.
I'll certainly add you to the list right away.
As for training, it depends on your ability and what you know already. I'll start off by asking you a few simple questions, and we'll take it from there.
Can you swim?

Swim?? hmm...I've never tried. You see, us Olympians...we don't need to worry about drowning and all that. I might have to work on the swimming thing, but for now I can float across the water very well

Floating across water I think qualifies - afterall, no point in being too picky over as little a thing as swimming. The next question is, do you come with your own swimwear? And secondly, would you consider mouth-to-mouth resussitation with drowning swimmers of your choice?

Swimwear?! all I have is my toga....
But I am however well trained in the mouth-to-mouth recussitation

Well if you can wear it whilst swimming, it counts
Next question: are you prepared to loaf around beaches and swimming pools on the off-chance that you might be needed?

As far as I'm concerned you just have.
All you have to do now is follow the links on the Lifeguards page to the Swimming Pool and beach, and just enter the conversations there when you wish.
Thanks for volunteering, and welcome to the group.
