this kinda-chesseburger was pretty good and it features a high portability rating. Major AkronU by the way, I take care of all things that fly around here

*stands and extends his hand*

*gate activation siren sounds*

I hope you don't mind but I've been wanting to see that thing in action since I got here, it was nice to almost meet you

*smiles sheepishly and dashes out the door for the gate room*

*dashes out, stopping by the medical bay....


A bit later...comes back, grabs some coffee, thanks the staff and rushes back out again, banging her rifle against her leg*

*comes in, grabs an apple, shines it on his shirt and begins munching*

*walks over to table, sits down and begins to read through the flight manual*

*Two enlisted men walk in.*

[EM 1] What was that last alarm about?

[EM 2} Man, it wasn't good- Colonel Reefgirl came under fire. They've got a team out looking for her right now.

[EM 1] I don't even know why they have us bother guarding topside. What's going to kill us is going to come out of that thing down there!

*looks up from reading*

Its obvious neither of you have met an investigative reporter or a scifi fanatic. Bring me a regiment of Jaffa anyday.

[EM 1] *Blank look* You must be the new guy...

*The second enlisted man gives an elbow to the ribcage of the first when he notices the pip on Akronu's shoulder. They both stand at attention, though the first a little out of breath.*

[EM 2] Sir! I am PFC Ramirez. I was on guard duty the day the gate was first dialed, and I can tell you I'd take a platoon of investigative reporters over what came through that day.

Army huh? Now your bellyaching makes sense.

*shakes head, begins to hum the Air Force Academy fight song, and goes back to his reading*

*The two men give Akronu a dirty look, and go back to eating.*
