*Kat raises her eyebrows*

*She wheels over to the Mess phone and dials through to the Gate Room....*

*Kat replaces the phone, giggling, and turns back to the table*

Right well, one of you will need to go off-world. Whoever you decide on will need to grab one of the field med satchels from the med bay and report to Walter, having told me that you're the one of course!

Now...back to your medical exam airman...


*she takes the papers and looks at them........*

*Kat hands the papers back to the airman*

If you go and get settled into your barracks and come to the medical bay within the week I'll be happy to do your exam.

*she turns to her medics*

If neither of you want to go off-world that's fine, we'll just hope for the best and if anything awful happens then we'll sort something out. I have things to do so I will talk to you guys soon.

*she gives them a radient grin before leaving the Mess Hall*

Time for me to go and do some work I think

*leaves*

*Is engaged in a heated discussion with an airman about the merits of jets versus helos*

*Peace wanders in, selscts an orange juice a plate of chicken and some vegetables and sits down to eat.*

*After finishing the meal, she gets a cup of tea, produces a folder and begins studdying the papers inside.*

*Kat wheels in smiling vaguely, before hitting the corner of a wall and looking around to check that nobody noticed. She gets a tray and, it being Sunday, takes two slices of french toast, four rashers of bacon, scrambled egg, one sausage, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, and an apple.

Balancing the lot carefully in her lap she goes across to Peace's table*

Any room for me and my truly enormous meal Lieutenant?

*Peace looks up.*

*She moves a few documents to make more room, and gestures at the folder.*
I was given some background information when I transfered. I had no idea so much was going on here.*

*Kat dives into the food on her plate, eating ravenously and glancing at the papers*

Makes me glad I'm just the CMO! All I have to worry about is patching everyone back together and writing my research papers...oh and playing computer games, but I'm no sure that's in my job description.
What are they expecting you to do? In fact...what on earth does your job entail? It sounds interesting but I only read the basic summary when I transferred.

*Takes a sip of her tea.*
To be honest I'm not sure of the details. I think the official description is something like 'to construct and persue, where possible, healthy and peacefull relations between Earth and other species/ planets/peoples.' or something along those lines.

I took the job because it seemed a bit of a challenge, and well a fascinating opertunity...
