What if you're diabetic? Cake would be death...
Anyway, I agree - it's always the extremes of religious belief that hit the headlines, not some of the positives. Satanism is no exception, but essentially it's populated by people who really have no idea about what they are actually doing - it just seems "cool" and alternative. Wonder if DGS (original poster) knows anything about Baphomet (not the dodgy black metal band), Azrael, Astaroth, etc?
He does seem to have gone awfully quiet...

I while ago I was on the bus to work and some wannabe goth student chick who I think may have been a walking Slipknot advert (Hoodie, trousers, backpack and lunchbox all had Slipknot's logo on) was telling her friend all about Satanism and how she (the wannabe goth) was a Satanist and how people like Marilyn Manson deserve respect for being Satanic... I felt like turning around and shouting "You're not a Satanist you silly girl, you probably just got LaVey's Satanic Bible off Amazon because that would be, like, soo kewl! Besides, Marilyn Manson's a moron."

Ironically the bands which employ the biggest shock tactics (the Scandinavian black metal bands) are considered sell outs if they sell more than ten records ever.

I dunno about DarkGothSatanist because he seems to have Elvised, but I'm into Carcass, Gorerotted, Bolt Thrower, etc.
I'm also into turning off my Caps Lock.

My God, Bolt Thrower, there's a name from the past! Are they still going? I was listening to them when I was about 13, fifteen years ago! That's made me feel really old.
Maybe DGS has been consumed by a demon during a bizarre ancient rite.
Or he (she?) may be into McFly now instead.
Heh heh heh...

Well, "satin" worship is, if I remember correctly, the veneration of fabric.
What you're describing sounds like LaVey Satanism which is all about worship of the self (he only called it Satanism for shock value).
Satan himself never defied God because there is no entity called Satan, it's a corruption of, oh, any number of ancient words which all have the same roots and basically mean 'adversary'.

Have you ever noticed that to a dyslectic viewer that the words satan and santa are identical?
Are you aware that DNA was a radical athiest and thatmere mention of the non-mouse-like dieties would ellicit responses of girl-like titter from most intelligent beings. In fact the "Big-Cheese" itself would send mightly mouse down from the HALO dimension to bitch-slap the per5petrator of this non-sensical thread.
I trully believe that your topic should have reallyread Satin-Worship, now theres some sheets you could slip into...
