The entrance that is easiest to meet at is in Kew road, and is called Victoria Gate, with ETA 12.00 for 12.30 wander.
http://www.kew.org/visitor/kew-map.htm
Look at the bottom middle, in red.
From Richmond station, cross the road to the stop outside Lloyd's bank and get a 65 to Victoria Gate. You can't miss it. As you arrive you will see the pagoda and London Welsh rugby ground on the left. It is three stops further on.
From Kew Bridge mainline station, cross onto the left hand side of the bridge and use that stop for the 65 bus to Victoria gate. You'll know it by the campanile to your right.
From Kew Gardens underground station, walk along Station parade into Broomfield road, turn left to the pedestrian crossing and the entrance is 20 metres away to your left.
From Gunnersbury underground, district line, take a 351 from the stop on the Gunnersbury station side (BSI) and get off at the first stop on Kew Gardens road, where the turns left at the traffic lights, which is Kew Gardens Road. (The gate is where the information sign is located)

Alternatively get off on Kew Bridge and change onto the 65.
The other alternative is a 237 or 267 from the same stop, and get off at the Waggon and Horses pub, first stop after Kew Bridge, Cross he road to the stop opposite and get the 65. My flat is 20 metres away facing that stop.
Plenty of choices and should help you all out I hope.
Here's to weather!

And by boat? Personally, this is the only way to get to Kew from London if you have the time and money.
Ferries leave at 10:30 from Westminster pier (£16.50 return fare - the last boat back in 6:30pm) to get to Kew at midday: http://www.wpsa.co.uk/timetable_new.html
This is the most wonderful journey. If you go this way, follow the signs from the wharf to Kew Gardens but ignore the first main gate if you are meeting people by the Victoria gate (mind you you will almost certainly not be at the Victoria gate by midday if you come by boat). I would arrange to meet inside the gardens at another location a bit later.

I'll be taking notes too.
Ten pound notes and five pound notes. Maybe even twenty pound notes!
They're not overly keen on the barter system that side of the river!
Although they might take Strangely's droppings in lieu of notes, but he'd need an awfully large amount, at £5.00 a sack!

Re: Post 71...
Kew is really expensive to get into (£13/£11) and
The treetop walk is currently closed
Only the lift is closed, for repairs and assessment. The stairs and walkway are open for those interested.

Also, oughta add, just in case anyone in this thread isn't subscribed or hasn't read the other threads, that I've now put what I hope is accurate information in to the main meet page as regards this afternoon event, and the other alternative event too
Also, from my conversation with Roymondo/socket yetstrday looks Like I and he will be arriving pretty* early to the Shakespeares head, for the evening event... probably by 2 PM I think at the latest unless we have to pub crawl our way there

Missed him? Ahh, yes, like I might miss a bout of herpies WEll tis handy for me, as It means I've somewhere to sleep on Saturday night so don't have to rush on back and try and catch the very* last train (which is actually fairly* early). Plus of course its our 'bisuness as useual' in so far as It'll be as it has been for the last few years wehre I meet up with Roymondo at Kings Cross and we hit the pubs early
I relaly must update the page actually as his name is sitll on the possibles list
So many thigns to do... and I've not even decided on really important things like what knickers to wear
