Nothing is getting marked at all until I'm home. That'll be late on Sunday evening..

I meant "where is Mckay" as in him posting his predictions this week sense. If i'd actually taken the time to notice that he was the next post on from me then i would have known, to me at least. Anyway well done to all how've took part this season. My actual aim is to finish above Riotact to one better my position from last season. Still i won "club man for our sunday football team this evening so anything else is a bonus.
Good luck too all for tomorrow. Roll on next season.

Yes, and it will be our twelfth in the second tier of English football. I think our nearest rivals for that are Forest who have 5 seasons under their belt here in the 'Championship', And as we all know, they've b*ggered their chances of making it to 6.

A bit of advice for you all.
Never ever invite a girl called Ben along to a football match if you care about the final result. To date she has attended 2 games in the company of h2g2 Fantasy Football Leaguers, and in both cases the Leaguer's team has gone down to a four goal thumping It got so bad in the end at Molineux that the Blades started cheering for Wolves instead of our own team. This confused the hell out of the locals. OK so that's not so hard to do in a town where they still point at aeroplanes, but even so...
Anyway enough of my miseries, and on to my other misery. My steadily declining performance in this Fantasy Football League.
Yet another poor week sees me drop further down the table. My position for the week is only saved by dear old AlexAshman and his arsing around with silly scorelines (again (thanks)).
In general everyone else did rather well this week. Some nice numbers were getting posted; including lots of scorer points, which is always gratifying to see.
This week the winner was Number Six, with a mighty lump of 21 points. Congratualations, sir (You know, if you attended on a more regular basis, you could challenge for the title one day )
However the weekly winner is not really what you are all interested in this week. It's the final table, and the winner of the mousemat that has got your attention, isn't it.
And yes, it's him again. The winner for the fifth time - Ormondroyd, the Real Madrid of the h2g2 Fantasy Football League. Well done and I'll get your prize off to you shortly

(takes bow)
Thank you!
I'm very flattered by the Real Madrid comparison, but this is actually the first time since 2003 that I've managed to win the title. 17 months of hurt never stopped me dreaming, and I'm delighted that I will now get a nice new mat. After missing out on a replacement for four Fantasy Football seasons, my old one is starting to look a bit eared!
Thanks to GreyDesk for organising a great competition. The fact that there were only 10 points separating the top six players shows how high the standard is these days.
This was the best finish ever - I was watching the scores anxiously on the last day. A couple of minor upsets that I predicted failed to materialise, and midway through the second half of the Championship games on Sunday three of the scores stood at 1-1, so it looked as if sprout's bizarre tactic of predicting that result for every game might win him the competition. Fortunately for me, a couple of late winners swung things my way.
But even so, I didn't know that I'd won the title until the last result was confirmed - and that was the one from Wolverhampton. So perhaps I owe my victory to A Girl Called Ben's influence on the Blades.
Anyway, thanks once again to GD and everyone else for a superb competition. See you next season!

I had actually requested a provisional pools panel for this week as I knew I was busy. Where is it?

Number Six Posted May 9, 2005
to Ormondroyd and to everyone else - I must say, I've enjoyed being part of this thing even when I've not been managing to make predictions, which is why I kept coming back even when it became clear my absences had left me with Bob Hope of winning the title...
I wish the Premiership had been this close. It's been a pleasure to watch.

, Number Six!
But wait! Oh no - I could still be overtaken if the Pools Panel awards DD ten full houses!

Thanks to GD for all his work on the competition and to everyone else for keeping me plugging away until the very close of play.
The new season should be fun, as we have to re-evaluate our form guides.
Oh- and congratulations Ormy.

So is Demon Drawer getting his Pools Panel, Mr Desk, sir? It won't feel as if this competition is properly over until the Liberal Democrat candidate has had his recount!

GreyDesk Posted May 12, 2005
I don't recall DD asking for a Pools Panel thingy. I'll go take a look through the backlog.
And I suppose "CARDIFF, CARDIFF HERE WE COME!!!" is Meisere's latest incarnation. Frankly I have to say that I prefered the Wild Biriyani phase. And also is he aware that pride often comes before a fall

I think it was in week sixteen I said I was provisionally asking for one if I didn't manage to find time to post by the deadline in the next couple of weels. I managed in week 17 but week 18 there was this big vote thing going on and I was not near a PC for personal enjoyment all that week. And hardly near a PC for election stuff either.
Key: Complain about this post
