FF13 - Week Sixteen
GreyDesk Started conversation Apr 17, 2005
After a break of a week, the bonus point thingy makes a return for the final time this season. As always, post what you think the connection is at the same time as your predictions to qualify for the point (assuming that you're the first one to get the link right).
Crewe v Stoke
Sunderland v Leicester
Watford v Sheffield United
Brentford v Huddersfield
Northampton v Lincoln City
All predictions to be in by 12noon on Saturday, 23rd April. Not that I'm going to around to check that you do. I'm off to Watford that afternoon to see if the 'Mighty' Blades can put their fast distintegrating season back on track.
Hint - the link this week is a piece of piss, and I fully expect it to last all of two minutes flat

Crewe 3-1 Stoke
Sunderland 3-1 Leicester
Watford 3-1 Sheffield United
Brentford 3-1 Huddersfield

And the link may be something to do with certain lagers ('flat' 'piss')

Better pay attention this week -
Crewe 0 v 2 Stoke - Gifton Noel-Williams
Sunderland 2 v 0 Leicester - Stephen Elliot
Watford 0 v 2 Sheffield United - Andy Gray
Brentford 2 v 1 Huddersfield - Pawel Abbott
Northampton 1 v 2 Lincoln City - Simon Yeo
I think 6 already has the link - one of each team plays in red & white stripes (another point I've missed by not posting early enough)

The link... Number Six has it... but are they the only clubs in England to have red & white striped home shirts? (can't think of any more...?)

I am not sure I am going to able to post in the next few weeks. Can I provisionally ask for a pools panel for the next two weeks in case I can't get time to get on here to post my predictions.
Obviously if I can find time I will post them myself.

Just as a matter of interest. All those of you who've put down Danny Webber to score in the Watford v Sheffield match: which team did you think that he would be scoring for when you made that choice?
FF13 - Week Sixteen
Ormondroyd Posted Apr 23, 2005
Another possible issue: some players have put 'Stewart' as their scorer for the Sunderland-Leicester game. Both teams have a Stewart in their squads, although Jordan Stewart of Leicester doesn't appear to have played in their first team this month.

GreyDesk Posted Apr 23, 2005
Don't worry, I would have marked it as Marcus
And as for the Danny Webber issue. Well congratulations dear campers, I can guarantee that you're going to get zero scorer points from the match. Webber and Cullip are both to be excluded from the game as one of the terms of the loan agreement between Watford and United. But you knew that already, didn't you... Oh.
Finally, by late night pigeon post, or rather more accurately by Yahoo e-mail (which is more or less the same thing, just not quite as reliable as the feathered version) we have Meisere's selections for the week...
Crewe 2-1 Stoke (Rivers)
Sunderland 2-0 Leicester (Stewart)
Watford 1-3 Blades (Jagielka) - Aww, bless you my dear little 'piggie' friend
Brentford 1-2 Huddersfield 2 (Booth)
Northampton 2-1 Lincoln (Richards)
