FF13 - Week Eight
me[Andy]g Posted Feb 24, 2005
Well... I forgot last week... oops, too busy. Oh well let's see how I do this week:
Macclesfield 3-1 Bristol Rovers (Tipton)
Swansea 1-2 Scunthorpe (Hayes)
Cambridge Utd 2-1 Oxford Utd (Carruthers)
Leyton Orient 0-2 Darlington (Wijnhard)
East Stirling 0-7 Gretna (Skelton) ... well, why not?

Macclesfield 2-1 Bristol Rovers (Agogo)
Swansea 1-1 Scunthorpe (Trundle)
Cambridge Utd 1-2 Oxford Utd (Mooney)
Leyton Orient 1-2 Darlington (Steele)
East Stirling 1-3 Gretna (Bingham)
Having seen two of these teams play each other recently, I can tell you that Leyton are an appalling, lump it type of team with the worst left back I have ever seen - their centre forward comes over as a right little toe rag but is their only player with an ounce of skill.
Rovers have a decent, if lightweight midfield and Agogo is a big strong lad with some pace and a decent work rate.

Grrr....I see the last two selections for Gretna are ex-Livi players. Just when we need a regular goal scorer. Cheers guys.

Petta Tosh. Nice.
I did notice when I picked Deuchar to score, that you could quite easily pick 5 scorers with the same names as beers.

If any of the matches are postponed due to inclement weather, then it very much depends when the replay is as to whether the games get included in the stats. If the rescheduled match is in say three weeks time, then I won't bother. If however it is in the next couple of days, then I might.

Guess what? East Stirling v. Gretna's already off.

However, on the bright side, Macclesfield's website says that they're confident their match with Bristol Rovers will go ahead. Considering some of the weather we've had up North this week, I thought that game might be a goner, but apparently not.
