Hello all. I do like Chloe's painting, looks good. Kinda soothing too.
Only seen the inside of two of big blue's places, Greenock and Hursley. Never used a computer there though.

Werrk! I've been upgraded! Well the Goo has anyway. There I was, happily munching a sandwich and about to click on My Space when I found several zillion options. Could this be why things have been slow of late?

Dunno, but I just noticed it as well. I liked the old version. It had and nice simple not many options sidebar. Now it's all cluttered and my aesthetic has been nobbled! Though the edit page and new converation buttons are nice though.

I just noticed that Don't Panic is now Help! It is rapidly ceasing to have even a passing nod to Hitchhikers, which is, after all, why I came here in the first place. Still, if I don't want things to evolve I should stay in the BOF Inn.

I'm sorry to see "Don't Panic" disappear, too. That is a hootoo meme and to drop it is to seriously dilute the theme of this place. The Guide has DON'T PANIC written on the front in large friendly letters.

Yes it's not nice to see things like 'Don't Panic' disappear, but that's one I find OK. I just don't like how the sidebar looks now. It looks just plain ugly. Too cluttered. Oh well. Perhaps I should suggest it as an option or another skin. Guess the skin would have to be called oldstyle or something

Titania, quite right, 99% of Clydesdales are bay (brown with black mane and tail) usually with losts of white markings. But Gandalf is a Percheron, and the common color for those is dapple gray. Percherons are the very largest draft horses.[url removed by moderator]

Hi Everyone.

Lil, here's a tricky matter. Styx dropped by to see me at the shop. He's been badly knocked by recent events, as you know, and he was wondering if he could move in with me at Graphic Ants.

I'm sure he would still visit here quite often - I don't have a maidbot and I'm quite disorganised about food shopping.

The fireplace in the back office of the shop has two firelizard weyrs built into it. Only one of them is occupied at the moment (by Fern the Firelizard) so Styx could build a nest in the other one. It's quite large so he will be able to fit all his possessions into it.

I was going to fit a flap into the front door on the corner between the Town Square and Bridge Street so that Bagpuss can get to the Forum and Firkin across the way. Styx and Baggie are about the same size so they can share the same flap. Baggie will be residing in the front window, of course.

So are you happy with this arrangement? Please say if it would upset you too much.

[P] Day off tomorrow (friday 2000-12-1). Going to go canoeing in the afternoon

Having read the feedback about the upgrade to goo, it appears that there are plans to introduce a 'hitchhikers' skin at a later date, but it is far off in the grand scale of h2g2 things. I'm missing the Don't Panic button, too. I feel like the victim of a bait and switch, lured to this site on the pretext of embracing h2g2 only to have it gradually become just another generic site.

Well, I don't think it'll ever be truly generic... too many unique personalities here.
