Many of us in this conversation have been chatting together for a very very long time, so if you see something you don't understand please feel free to ask what we mean. As with any community there are several memes and inside sorts of jokes that may be off putting, but people here are rather welcoming and should explain then easily enough.

Lil, stock android also has the ability to show which permissions an app wants to have. In fact, I have a friend who is speaking at a conference in a couple of weeks to this issue (personal privacy) and he will be talking about running paranoid versions of android to help lock down permissions and exactly what your apps can and cannot do.

Spent the weekend treating Odin for pancreatitis. Not sure what was causing it, but he was having trouble eating for a while. Looks like that is better now. How do you explain to a dog that you are putting him on a diet for his own good?

Back from holiday to find the fridge-freezer had broken and tripped the electrics, taking out and breaking the burglar alarm with it.

I've fixed the electrics and sorted out the alarm, cleared out the fridge moving the salvageable stuff into the beer fridge and cleaning out the mould.

I now have a cup of tea, but have been up for 50 hours.

up till 5 pm i thought i was going to get out of here, but they changed their hive mind and kept me in an extra night so i could get another whack of antibiotics.

didn't bring the fire cos i don't have the cover yet, and it's dense, smooth to greasiness and fragile. not the toy for a strange and potentially hostile environment. took trusty old tosh netbook with the battered corners instead.
