In a somewhat, if distantly, related topic I have been searching for videos on how to de-bone a leg of deer. Will be cooking one of those small wonders on Friday...
*cautiously approaches Carriere, ducking as a last hiss of steam follows the milk dispensing*
Carriere, could I have a cortado, please?
*watches with a mix of amusement and worry as grinding and squeaking noises alternate with steam explosions worthy of Mediterranean temper. Finally, quietly, a glass with a mocha-brown deliciously smelling coffee is gently deposed next to the door*
Wow, thank you. Certainly matches what I had a few months ago in Talavera de la Reina

Did you find the video you're looking for, Santra?

Well, yes and no. Found a very good and detailed one (for lamb but pointing out that deer would be the same) - but it not only took bone(s) out, it took the thing apart into several pieces. And then another one that did what I wanted - but didn't show it very well. Sort of like when someone who's really good at something shows you "you just do like this and this and there you go".
I'll work it out (pun not originally intended but now that it's there... )

Could somebody please test Carriere for alcoholic drinks, please? I'm sticking with tea.
Bad trainers, oh god. One of the rangers at Lincoln was terrible. If you asked her how to do something, she invariably started out by saying, "That's easy! You just...", which immediately put the questioner at a disadvantage. For not knowing how to do the "easy" thing in the first place, and then not being able to follow the ranger's explanation.
She was very bad at explaining stuff.

A bit early in the day for me for a , I might try it tonight.
Worst example of someone being very good at something but very bad at teaching it was the teacher of an Oriental dance evening class I attended many years ago.
Those moves might have been easy for her, but when you're not used to using those specific muscles, or not used to using them in that specific way, it's not that easy.
She taught the class some basic moves and then expected us to be able to improvise by putting them together

Last night I was so tired I went to bed before 10 pm, fully expecting to sleep a solid eight hours - instead, I wake up at 5 am, a full hour before the alarm!
IIEM, a - right... *looks at the newcomer*
Carriere, a Mog's Usual please - that's a triple espresso with an extra shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso on the side (with an extra shot of espresso) - and make it strong this time!

Morning all
I am still in bed, at this lazy hour of 9:30 . Planning for an open top bus ride of Madrid, and hoping for no rain.
Breakfast soon!

I'm hoping the sun stays out so it'll be nice for me to go for a run when the park is quieter after people have gone to work and school. But it's already looking like it's clouding over

Been hunting + gathering today; 6am drive down to and on to my local beach. Go searching for a a good spot to do some 'worming'. Espy said spot and begin to worm...never seen so many 'Stumpys' in one spot before and the sloshing of dead fish frames brings them up in their tens and tens.(You thought I was going to say hundreds or possibly more...nope, tens and tens is a ridiculous amount of these metre long creatures)
Catch 20 or so and zoom off up the beach looking for likely spots to snare a feed. Find a 'gutter'(Rip/channel/shallow fast moving water heading out to sea through the waves)launch a cast with the aforementioned worm threaded up the line over the hook and...bam! First strike and me chest deep in 26 degree surging surf and a reflected yellow sun trying to find a gap in my zinc cream covered noggin.
Will cut story short as I might be losing you:
Bait, fish, move bait, catch fish, move thirty or forty times during the morning and then a cool beer at an inland pub beckons and a drive back home through sub tropical forest and farmland beckons.
Home and teatime with fresh fish done in a tempura batter with just picked greens from the garden also tempura-ed. Glass of Pinot Gris from the fabulous vinyards of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
Wash up and into the media room for some soft arias and a quick surf on the net and end up at hootoo of all places and Lil's where I've not been for six or seven years I think.
*Waves to everyone

The closest I get to hunting is choosing which sort of hot dog to have One of the joys of city living, that and I don't particularly like fish

Keith, welcome back! Can I fish or hunt for my meal? Sadly, no. The best I can do in the next hour is turn my nose up at unsalted scrambled eggs cooked a la masses, and direct the aide to forage on my behalf in the cupboard for a packet of pop tarts.
The last time I had fish in England, it was battered cod and chips for £1.50. What would that meal cost now?

Gone are the days of fish and chips being a cheap takeaway. Can be above £5 now

At my local chippy, small chips is £1, cod £3:60, unless you qualify for the pensioner discount.

Hmmm... apparently, vinyl enthusiasts are objecting to IKEA's decision to stop selling the Expedit shelves, because they're obviously the perfect height and depth for storing LPs.
There's even a German protest FB group that has gathered more than 25,000 members.

We can fish off of one of the docks (no fishing license required off of that dock), though the best catch we've made was of an abandoned crab pot We've gone crabbing, as well, and have had more luck with that
We'll be starting up a garden here again soon (and have ordered a small greenhouse), and of course we've got more eggs than I know what to do with--and I'll be adding more chickens. Well, we'll have enough to sell enough to cover feed costs, anyway!
