The lights sound really pretty.
So, at long last we're getting a wool mill back in the area, just north of town, maybe by the end of of the year.
Thanks for the sending some of the rain back this way. We could use more, at least another 10 inches or so.

I noticed that rain was finally making it into California. Hope it's not too late for the crops.
Meanwhile, I still have bronchitis. Have spent the weekend in an empty-headed daze.

Spies a suspiciously soggy cloud overhead andsternly tells it to go rain elsewhere
So my dad has bought us a car. S had better hurry up and sit his teat then!
The toddler is teething and keeps using me as a chew toy. Ouch!

We are liking the rain we've gotten so far, but the reservoirs are still very low, so water restrictions are in force.
I hope you're feeling better, Lil.

* wonders whether it's acceptable to offer a child a Kong or other chew toy. *
* wonders whether to put mashed food in the Kong to make the chew toy more interesting and to reward the child for chewing the toy rather than people. *

There are also baby kongs in pink and blue with a squeaky thing inside, we own several of them (don't ask). Maybe that helps?
We have very damp weather today but no real rain. And it's very dark.

It's been unseasonally dry in Manchester, only one heavy downpour all last week, and this week's only seen a couple of drizzles.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Mar 4, 2014
I've had a Semla today, and asked Matina make a batch for you folks, they're traditionally eaten on Fat Tuesday. Swedish marzipan and whipped cream filled cardamom buns. Pic:

They used to be quite big, but the current fashion is to make them smaller, because with the cream and marzipan, they are quite filling.
I'm one of a few at the office who like to eat it the old-fashioned way: heat a bowl of milk and soak the Semla in it about half way up. Eat the now spongy Semla with a spoon. Eaten this way, it is almost a meal in itself.
That weather thingy is funny - and accurate!
So gloomy
Very creepy
Much blind
Such mist
+3ºC/37ºF

I recently bought a collection of fantasy short stories titled Unfettered for my Kindle. 'The Old Scale Game' by Tad Williams reminded me of Pastey's 'Endangered Creatures', possibly partly because of a rather mixed menagerie of mythical beings.
The list of contributing authors is quite impressive. They were free to contribute with any story they wanted whether it had been published, unpublished or rejected. And isn't Shawn Speakman (the editor) a rather cool name?

Does water have taste?
I certainly think so - one of the things I miss about my home town is the well-tasting tap water. The town actually came 4th in a competition for Sweden's Best Tasting Municipal Tap Water. See? If you can compete in it, surely it has a taste?

Back to semlor for a second - when Pierce , Lanzababy and I were in Madrid, we passed a lovely bakery. And what's on display? Semlor!
