He is recovered from that, Irv. He's been feeling under the weather this week, though, so he decided to go straight home from work. He now regrets not being part of the greatness that was The Strawberry Shortcake Amalgamation, though.

It's pretty eerie for me to watch now. The clip begins at the intersection of 15th Street and Range Line Rd., so about 4 blocks into what became the worst damaged area. The car continues south and manages to traverse the width of the tornado's path. Practically every business shown was destroyed. Fortunately they were just enough ahead of it to drive out of it and make it to the Interstate.

Back is killing me after doing something to it whilst helping a friend move houses today. Debating on whether I should use whisky or painkillers to treat it.

Earlier this afternoon, I was thinking of how the H2G2 doesn't allow editing of one's posts, nor any markup aside from smilies. I mean ... we seem to do reasonably well without either one. (And every forum I've been to that *does* allow editing seems to do just fine *with* it.) It's just, y'know, a kind of oddness in my mind.

Yar, it's true, but the team have plans for the future to bring the site into current technology and allow other media besides text. Eventually. Right now, as Pastey will say, we have to stabilize what we're using now. And there's a bit of man-behind-the-green-curtain stuff that needs to be put in place.

It's an interesting point: would you like to be able to edit your posts?

I've always felt a bit split about editing/non-editing posts. Considering the nature of some of the more heated debates here, and the nature of some of the researchers involved, it wouldn't surprise me if one of them edited an insulting/vehement posting and then whined about 'being attacked for no reason, I'm always the victim'.

I know there have been cases where people have genuinely regretted posting while upset and then went and yikesed their own post, wishing to have it hidden. And it was.

What I'd like is to be able to save a preview of a posting you're about to make so that you can scrutinise it the next day when more calm and decide whether you actually want to post it as is, edit it or even delete it altogether.

Oh, and the save only exists for a limited time, say 24 hours or possibly 48, then it's auto-deleted.

I'd just be thrilled with a simple "edit" function.
