Thank you Titania. Probably not very far back. I've been knocking around h2g2 on a very part-time basis for a couple of years. I did post a fair bit on Noesis for a few days.

Make yourself at home, hygienicdispenser. Will you mind if we shorten your name to hy in conversation?
Anyway, good to see you here.
You wouldn't believe how many role-play characters came out of the woodwork when I transferred.

No, not Noesis, h2g2 - ah well, it'll probably come back to me some day or, based on how my brain works, in the middle of the night 2 weeks from now at 3 am.

Hi there hygienicdispenser, take a pew and relax. On second thoughts, just leave it where it is and have the seat Titania offered. Welcome.
I would suspect the server as well, Lil. Mind you I always thought an operating system called Vista would have clear, wide expanses of usability and instead it meant wandering a foggy forest with a blind-fold on, waiting for the bear to beat you over the head and cr*p in your hat.

Lil, feel free to call me what you want. (Am I going to regret that?)

You may, hy, but it is unlikely. We are, in general, a polite group that responds well if asked not to call someone a particular nickname.

To me, it has always seemed as if Micros**t forced new versions through the pipe way too early, for browsers as well as Office versions, trying to stay ahead of the competition.
I recently discovered that I can't delete 'accidentally created macros' from Excel97 in the current version of Excel that I run at w*rk. This is in no way mentioned anywhere in the Excel help section, as far as I've been able to find.
And if I ever come across the person who thought Shift+Alt was a great shortcut for changing your keyboard setup, I'll strangle him/her with my bare hands.
To reset your keyboard, repeat Shift+Alt or, in some cases, Shift+AltGr

In that case, can I request hd rather than hy? If only because I've become somewhat used to it elsewhere. Apparently there is also a Happy Dude who is HD, but so far our paths have never crossed.

Hello hd welcome to the atelier.
When you see presented by David Attenborough, you know that it will be fantastic TV. From pole to pole with some of the amazing footage you now expect from such films, even though it's still incredibly hard to get the amount and quality they do.
WOW
That's all I can say.

Hi hy. It's nice to have you here.
Alter egos. Two transferred successfully along with The Circle; two accounts not found although I know I moved them to BBCID; two others found but failed to transfer. Not a good percentage, all told. It is so unlikely that I would use them again anyway that I decided not to go to the gurus about them.

Who was asking about Munchkin? He's quite prolific on Twitter, I'll ask him if he's interested in popping in here.

Once things have calmed a bit and we've all settled in, you might want to try again, Hyp - I'm sure they were - ahem - interesting personalities...

Phil, I loved Frozen Planet. The poalr bears, wolves, killer whales, penguins etc were fascinating to watch, but the truly mindblowing filming involved the ice caves, glaciers etc. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Oct 26, 2011
Hi again, argh i have too much going on and not enough time to do everything. I got abducted by aliens and taken to Aberdeen today, which was fun. The aliens in question returned me to Dundee again eventually.
I *am* my role play character, well here more than most places i am a 2 inch tall white mouse who owns a miniature flying saucer, but sometimes my mouseyness sneaks into my postings elsewhere, such as the Thingites No no no! thread.
I might play with the whole mouse thing around the site a little more when I have time again. It's also fun to be 2legs apprentice. Maybe I should open a few sockpuppets, just for playing with. I can't really use U13672438 because i'm not sure i remember how to get into it, and it's lain dormant a while.
