NZ is GMT+12 but I don't know about any daylight saving time so I guessed it might be that.

Good morning everybody! Matina, may I have some tea and toast, please? Bring the strawberry preserves.
I miss reading Private Eye. Actually, I miss being able to understand Private Eye. I lost that ability about a year after I had to move to Florida -- had never realised that the humour was so interwoven with a close knowledge of British current events. In the US, we rarely get more than a couple of lines about any news abroad unless it involves sex or dead Americans.
I'll be out most of the day today, consulting IRL, but I'll catch up with y'all this evening.

That's the thing with satire. It has to be current especially so if you're doing it for TV/radio. Then they're usually writen, recorded and broadcast on the same day.

Aaarrrggghhhh! *very close to transform into 'Kristina the Flamenco Dancer'*
WHY did I have to choose a subject like 'Kalevala' for an article???
*grabs a Y and the champagne bottle from fridge, not even bothering to ask Matina*
*Springie feels that this is not perhaps the right time for a cuddle - or maybe it is?*

OK, Mike, and thanks.... Boy, do I find this 'existing-in-a-language-not-being-my-mother-tongue-thing difficult at times...

It seems difficuly for us English-speaking types to fulling comprehend the effort that must go into speaking a foreign language so often. I think of myself struggling with German, and wonder if I can ever handle it like you guys handle English. Respect.

Thanks, Mike!
But it does help a bit having to learn English from the age of... 9, I think it was...
...and was I happy when I managed to say 'A fox in a box and a star in a tree'
...But later on, I realized that I really did'nt know that much English... but I think I can at least make myself understood (more or less)...?
