It's rather encouraging to watch the real-time counter on Facebook, as people declare that they've placed their X

If we ever have to go through this again, we'll have to think up a euphemism for v*te. Like we did with moran.

Only just over half an hour to go until we can talk about sensitive issues again...
I'm sure the collective Salon brain can come up with a most excellent euphemism for the next time Auntie has to watch her ps, qs and xs.

What saddens me is the number of possible vobblers who don't vobble. Doing it online isn't going to help as there are still so many who have little or no access to the tinterweb.....And that method is certainly going to be prone to fiddling.
I wonder if we should make it mandatory to vobble. We might have to shoot a few bleeding hearts first though to get the legislation through.

I have now been and done my democratic duty.

Got the email from the Mods Vip. I've asked them to explain their decision. It seems too harsh. I'm quite disappointed.

Although vobbling should be a duty, one would then also have to mandate civics classes, or else results would be skewed by low-information vobblers. This never happens currently.

I'm impressed with any tailor that can fit a mouse. Unless, of course, the tailor is a mouse, too.

Am in happy Scotland, though there's no sign of Z yet.
Any ideas on which site to log on to while we watch the results on the telly?

I vobbled when I got in from work first thing this morning. There was no booth with a curtain at the wibbling station ! I was quite disapointed. First time I have been to church since the last 'everybody put an X on a piece of paper' .
Happy birthday maddam prez For a a trap door in front of your desk ...just press the button .

Looking at the lists of countries where it is compulsory, it seems none of the Salonistas fall into that category.
Civics classes Lil? It would be a bit like sex education classes over here........and they work well!
"Sorry Miss, I'm vobbling for xxxx 'cos my Dad/Mum/other part of the less educated community has always vobbled for them, and can you hold the baby a minute Miss, I need to light my fag."

Happy birthday, Hyp! No...I'm not throwing tomatoes at you, I'm giving you two tomato plants which grow the biggest, tangiest, juicest, sweetest tomatoes in the universe. Better yet, they're never affected by frost or snow, they always bear fruit, and you don't have to spray for bugs or other undesirables. It's going to be a warm summer afternoon every day in your house with these tomato plats around.
