Very good relay scribing, I'd say smiley - applause

>I bought him tickets to Thursday's Cardinals/Brewers game. Really good tickets. And we're staying in one of the pricey hotels downtown just a block from

Hmmm - Brewers? If it is that kind of game, are those the ones up from Milwaukee? In that case, I've had lunch on their stadium albeit without any ball playing ever so remotely going on.

And as to hotels only a block away, Mrs SG V and I are going to Diana Krall in September, not in Copenhagen but in Århus, some 300 km / 190 miles away by car/train. So I found out that I could use some of my accumulated frequent flyer points for a hotel room 5 min walk from the concert venue. So now we stay over. And have Friday off. smiley - zen

At least it's one of the preciously few periods in September when I'm home (well, in Århus smiley - winkeye). I have 15 travel days next month, starting with Amsterdam tomorrow morning...

It's annoying when work gets in the way of racing to FTTF.

Meetings. Why? that is all...

Orthodontic appointments got in the way of the race for me. Off to read the first LED.

A good recap smiley - smiley

Sounds like a fun few days for you Hyp, I hope the ball game is enjoyable (and produces the right result).

Today has been a gardening sort of day. MC has cut back the hedge at the front and I've sown seeds of a green manure in one of our garden veg beds and dig up all the potatoes down the allotment. Lots of spuds to eat now, some ooner than later as lots have blight spots on smiley - sadface
Still that done we can get the area they were in cleared and setup for next year.

We had a gardening sort of day too.

A visit to Wisley in the morning was followed by an afternoon in our own garden where Mr T rubbed down and treated some garden furniture and I did some cutting back of overgrown borders.
Coincidentally - we also planted some green manure smiley - weird

Then we drank rose d'Anjou on the swing seat before barbecueing.
I think I may have had rather too much rose: it took me half an hour to make a simple salad because I was far too distracted by bopping round the kitchen to songs on the radio.
According to my son, I am officially Sad.

Thank Bob I previewed that - the typos were horrendous.

How did other UKians spend their Ban Collie Day?

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

Chilled out morning, playing console games, went shopping, visited some friends where we talked Marvel/DC Comics, four legged pets (mainly of the rodent variety) and console games. Bliss.

Mellow evening planned, Arkham Asylum, followed by Guitar Hero, methinks.

Right, Santra. The Milwaukee Brewers.

I'll do that, Tod. smiley - biggrin And yep, it starts at 1:15 our time, so you guys can get it in over there before bedtime. smiley - laugh I'll be wearing my white Cardinals jersey over my bright red shell, my white Cardinals visor and my Cardinals flip flops. Syn will be wearing his white Carpenter shirt. Carpenter is one of the StL pitchers. He has more than one StL caps. Not sure which one he'll take. Have to dress properly for the game, you know. We'll be behind the home plate screen on the first base side, if my memory of the ballpark serves.

One of the reasons Syn and I put up with each other is because we're both Cardinals fanatics. I grew up in a household where baseball was a religion and a trip to Busch Stadium was the holy grail.

Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

We're spending today getting ready for the star of school tomorrow. I'd already gotten most everything on Faith's school supply list--everything for her personally, anyway. I just need to get the handwipes for the classroom (private school, so some of the supplies are supplied by the parents)--they weren't on sale when the other stuff was. I've already put my employee ID in the car--I'll be keeping it in my mailbox in the staffroom, but it has to make it there firstsmiley - laugh

Hello, all. Great scribing, scribes.

I mainly spent my ban collie day at friends' bbq. Lots of tasty food. I have eaten far too many burgers and sausages over this weekend!

Can one of the bots just give me a wee hand, here?

*With Chloe's help, Ag drags a large purple tent into the room, and together they fold it down into a parcel about the size of a hard-back book*

Thank you, Chloe. I'm pants at folding anything, even pants.

Z - this is for you. It's a tent. For days when you get up a hill and can't be bothered to come down again in time for bed. It's very cosy. I hand-knitted it. It started out as hiking socks and, umm, I think three G&Ts and an orange button were involved, and next thing I knew I'd missed your birthday and knitted a purple tent. I promise I have not embroidered the names of everyone I have ever slept with inside. But I have put an entertwined B and Z on the inside of the door-flap.

Hi, everyone!

We had a lovely ban collie day - we walked along the river to a nice pub, had a good lunch and a play, then met up with some friends and their kids and watched the kids paddling in the thames while the menfolk failed to fly a kite, then back to the pub, and finally a long walk home smiley - smiley

Lovely purple tent! smiley - smiley

Having a difficult day, here. Had to call the sheriff to come help me off the bathroom floor. No pain, no discomfort, but also no knees.

Landlady's daughter came over and made me comfortable with some cushions and my bottle of water -- I always carry my cordless phone with me, so I chatted with some neighbors while I was hanging out on the floor, next to my wchair. And then two not-sheriff people arrived (volunteers associated with the department for just these sort of calls) and we slung me up into the wchair with a beach towel, and here I am. It hasn't cost me anything to use the sheriff's office rather than EMT's, either.

These episodes are frightening, and it was good to learn that I could avail myself of the sheriff's department in this way, because until I ripped my shoulder I was gaining a little strength and lots of confidence. Two steps forward, one step back....
