*pulls on whiskers, thinking*
Don't like stealing animals. People sneaking in other peoles places. It makes me feel not so safe with strangers around. Tonight you lock studio doors and move Violet outside your doors to the veranda. I will stay awake, sleep tomorrow after you get up.
*grins*
Now get me a donut.

Hi Babel! As you can see, we have had some excitement round these parts!
I'll get you a donut, Styx. Do you still eat kibble? It's good for you, you know, and is highly portable, keeps indefinitely. I'll leave the bag on the floor in the pantry so you can get some when you need it for an expedition or explore or whatever.
I think I'll have a beer. *goes to kitchen and gets a couple of beers, a styx cocktail, a donut and some pretzels on atray and brings them back out to veranda*
And I like your arrangement. Glad I put Violet on wheels! I wish it didn't come down to this, though.

Yes I see it has been a busy week or so. Not much fun.
Will catch up on all of it over the week no dout.

G'morning, Babel! Anyone else around?
What's all this about stealing animals, not feeling safe, Styx wanting to lock doors? What's happened?

Hi Titania.
Lil, I decided to become a function on sunday evening when I realised I was still advertising the beer festival from the day before.
Went to see the Tate Modern on sunday, big gallery. I decided that some modern artists can paint and do have a sense of humor as well
*Grabs OJ and takes a seat*
So Titania, how's the Flamenco article coming along?
*Remember's he's seen something he want's to advertise, the Perseids Meteor Shower Project at A411111*

Hi Phil!
The Flamenco writing is a bit slow right now.
I discovered I got engaged in too many things, all at the same time, not being able to finish any of them... so now I'm concentration on one thing at the time, and the Flamenco article is not priority no.1 at the moment - sigh...
How was the Beer Festival? Did you have a nice time? Drink a lot of beer? Tried anything new?

Oh my goodness, what a backlog!
I finally found out what this gorilla-ting you were talking about is.
I'm Choomba it seems.

I know the feeling about lots of things happening.
The beer festival was good, meeting up with Blueslider, Munchkin and Pastey there. Yes a lot of beer was drunk and no I can't remember all of what I got there, except it was good, very good.

*unlocks door and emerges from studio*
Good morning everyone! Always nice to find company. *gets OJ from fridge and goes out to veranda*
Titania, sorry to hear you're feeling over-extended, I know that feeling. I'm sorry about even having to mention locks, but they are only on the inner doors. I'm afraid some of the candidates and their staff have sunk lower than a Nixon and there has been a case of catnapping and possible mistreatment of the animal, as well as another thing that I'm still working out in my mind. But I hate to talk those politics here because we have supporters of other candidates visiting, and I would hate to drive them away.
Welcome back bumblebee! I have extended the veranda, actually, I must get that floor plan updated. It's good to have you back.
Ammmpton! Please go down to Joanna's and get us the CLI regular order please, and half a dozen apple spice as well.
Glad you had a good weekend Phil -- I don't think I've caught up with you in a while, either.

Hi Lil!
Sorry to hear there's been trouble.
At least it's a relief to see that everything's as usual here...

Thank you Titania. I don't intend for the Atelier to be anything but a place where substantive discussion is possible. It's not a pit for intrigues or a locus of political activity. It's my refuge.

Phil Posted Aug 8, 2000
Hi Lil.
I've been quite busy recently, both in and out of work. Lots of stuff happening at weekends so trying to catch up with backlog can be hard.
As for the comment about Modern artists before, try looking at http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/AWork?id=1762 a piece called After Lunch by Patrick Caulfield. The picture inside the picture really is painted and very well done it is too. That picture I thought was one of the highlights of what I saw. Another was seeing a couple of Dali's works in the flesh (Mountain Lake and Metamorphosis of Narcissus - one of the classic student art posters).
Bumblebee, how was the trip to london?

Phil, that's lovely -- neat how he must have noticed the way the angle of light matched both in his studio and in the painting. There is a Dali museum right here in central Florida, actually. In St. Ptersburg, of all places. Quite an extensive collection. I remember being quite surprised at how small some of the pieces are.
By the way, if all goes well and Affi is able to get back to that job before the end of the week, we may have a Greek maidbot named Matina, which will be perfect for making mbougatses.
Titania, which do you prefer for Mindspring, goo or alabaster? When I test-drove her a few days ago, I took her over to the banquet and discovered that the "lcd's". the dots that stand for groups of 20 posts, don't work the same. Not nearly as well in alabaster. They don't go into a subsequent row! So every time i wanted to look at the next group I had to drag the conversation nearly shut, on the right, in order to access the single row of buttons on the left! Very awkward. Especially if you're trying to choreograph a routine.
Speaking of Mindspring... *goes into salon* Oh, there you are. Come down off the valence, Springie. You can have some pastry on your greens today.

Hi Lil, Phil
The trip to London?
Two weeks roaming around in the Capital of the Brrritish Empire and one week to get the dust out of our
noses. We had a splendid time, doing all the touristy things tourists do, shopping and sightseeing,
museums and galleries, shows and theatre, lunches in parks, busses and underground and those
funny black cabs (whitch seems to come in all hues and patterns nowadays)
