Hi Phil! Sorry, was out for lunch in RL
Funny about this "1 hour ago" in my last posting, that must have been at least 3 hours ago I made it - hmm...
Still raining here, must have been raining something like 48 hrs non-stop by now. No, wait! I can SEE the stains of rain in the street now! That must mean that the streets dried up some time during the morning, means there must have been a break in the raining - and I missed it! Argh!
Since the weather is always fine here at Lil's, I guess things are pretty alright anyway... how are you?
Let's go outside...

...and I reloaded the forum several times before lunch, and your reply did'nt come up until now, odd....

It does seem to be doing some funny things with postings not showing. I guess they must be cacheing pages so the servers don't have to generate so many pages all at once.
I think I'll be off for some lunch soon as I'm now getting quite hungry (perhaps I should start getting up earlier and eating breakfast). The weather here is overcast so nothing new. Where are you. I guess somewhere in eurpoe but I'm not sure where. I'm in an the office of an ISP in London - fast access

Ah the joys of being able to spend so much worktime online.
Perhaps one day I will get a job where they pay me to do it.
No such luck just now

I'm in Stockholm, Sweden (noticed there were 4 other Stockholms in US...)

Hi Babel!
*from veranda*Come on out here!
*looking in, noticing []*...or have you left?

Phil Posted Jul 26, 2000
Hi Babel. I do have to work as well (I'm one of the sysadmin team here). The internet is very useful as a work (as well as a skiving) tool.
I keep thinking of visiting Stockholm, Sweeden as it looks like a nice place to go. If it's still raining, I'll just let you know that now I've come back into the office after my lunch the sun is shining.

I guess the raining makes it easier having to spend my day working...
We have the Cutty Sark Tall Ship's Race here this week. Nice weather would have been a nice frame for that..
Stockholm is quite nice, special as it is with the center consisting of several islands connected with bridges, surrounded by water, and a lot of big, green areas right outside city area.
Here's a nice place to read more about Stockholm:

Ah, coffee's made already. Good morning everybody. If you didn't notice, I put some close-ups of the Kid tintype up at
http://www.h2g2.com/A402201 and today I reckon to get safely on with the work.
Affi closed the tunnel last night because of a scuffle with True Brownie church members -- any word yet on whether it's open?

Hi, there.
Lil, do you happen to have a live feed from the securicam at the cafe?
*hums innocently*

Just got there; I was bogged down in some other compartment of my online life and could hardly believe what I read. They are aware of the posting lag, I think, and testing to find out what the problem is.
Witty, you handled it beautifully. Now let's get in there and bring those vandals to order. Irv won't believe the tapes.

Hey, I didn't notice the number in the upper right corner of each post yesterday. That's sweet!
*goes to kitchen and rustles up some mbougatses* I see the stew is gone. Tomorrow I'll make tandoori, which means I better set the stuff to marinade today. Tonight we'll order in pizza.
*begins rustling around in fridge and pantry*

Over at the F&F. they're toasting as they pass each 100 posts. They just went over 400 on the current thread. I guess that's the equivalent of the fttf races at the cafe.
Let me help, want me to chop anything?

Isn't it terrific? The new architecture is a resounding success, and now they've overcome yet another glitch, the forum names at the 5 busiest.
*dumps plain yoghurt into a very large lidded bowl and begins mixing in spices and tomato colouring*
Would you mind to chop the garlic? Now THERE'S a southern US grammatical construction, "would you mind to"..... anyway, 6 cloves and then stir it into this marinade.
*begins to wash and skin chicken breasts, cutting deep transverse grooves into the muscle of each* I'm beginning to think I should call this place Aunt Lil's Atelier.

*begins peeling and chopping garlic*
And you're Diamond Lil at the cafe according to Abi.
*adds garlic to mixture*

A cafe is a good place to be Diamond Lil.
Then chop these three chillies into the marinade too. Here's some lemon juice -- don't get that stuff in your eyes!
*continues to prepare chicken breasts*
I think I'll do a pasanda as well.

Witty Moniker Posted Jul 26, 2000
*works on the chillies*
What's a pasanda?
*gets a flute, fills it with champagne, sips*

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jul 26, 2000
I do a lamb pasanda with a light and rather creamy gravy or sauce or whatever you want to call it. It's not a hot curry, quite delicate.
It will work well with the dry tandoori, I think, and we can also curry a some fresh spinach. We have loads for Mindspring.
Mindspring! I left her in the Lincoln room!
*rushes out of the kitchen and down the hall to the guest room named after the town of Lincoln, New Mexico, done all in southwestern decor*
*opens door and stares as Springie trots out tamely, meeping hello*
Ah. Well, it could have been worse.
*goes back to kitchen as Mindspring romps ahead of her*
She's still somewhat carbo-loaded, but not frenzied any more. Minoova, please go clean the Lincoln Room. Never mind about the pillows, we'll get new ones.
Minoova: Oui madame.
OK, onions and more garlic for the pasanda. *lays chicken in the marinade, covers them with more, replaces lid of bowl and sticks it in fridge* that takes care of the chicken till tomorrow.
