We recently bought a couple of ipod docks. J is using the smaller, cheaper one out in BJ and is happy with the sound quality.
We have a Klipsch model at The Towers which sounds great and wasn't hugely expensive.
Every time I look at one of these systems, I'm amazed that so many hours of music fits onto something so small, remembering the radiogram my parents had, which was the size of a sideboard.

I remember my parents having one of those things. Having to wait for a short while for the valves (tubes to our USain friends) to warm up.
You can get valve amp based ipod docks. Not much use for travelling though.
I find a decent set of in ear headphones to be one of the best accessories you can buy for any digital music player (I do have one, not an Apple one though).

Morning all! The snow has now reached Norn Irn, meaning a very slow and slushy journey into work, and I shall try to leave again as early as possible. I quite like Facebook, particualrly as a way of keeping in touch with friends in foreign lands. And I enjoy Scrabble on it. But can't access from work so they tend to be long drawn out games.

I bought a cheapish set of Sennheiser headphones for my Walkman, they sound pretty good and better than the goodish Sony ones.

They reckon there's more computing power in a modern mobile phone than was used in the whole of WW2. I proved that a couple of years ago smiley - geek

Wouldn't it be great if one could get some sort of implant placed near ones lugholes to obviate the need for headphones.
I struggle to find headphones that are 100% satisfactory for use in the gym. They either fall off my head, fall out of my ears or get tangled up and strangulate me if I try anything more energetic than a lazy stroll.
Pah.

How about bluetooth ones, Teuchter?

I have been looking longingly at the Sound Dock Series II, Santra. I've wanted a Bose radio ever since I first read one of their ads. However the customer reviews praise the JBL On Stage speakers as well so I thought I'd like to see them. I've got a tin ear, but these are going to have to last a long time, so I want to get the choice right.

I went to bed in my slippers, so my feet were toastie when I woke up, but they are gradually cooling down. smiley - sadface

Our main sound set up in the lounge is Tecnics and it has been making wonderful noises for probably over 20 years. Don't see (hear) any reason to change. I'm tone dumb smiley - sadface

I really like the shade of blue in Gwen's ink.

The Meeting yesterday could have been worse. We all still have jobs, at least in theory. But hmm, there will be much wailing, gnashing of teeth and discord over the next few months.

Our horsey noticed a colleague yesterday. She (said colleague) came into my office to tell me before the official story went out. It'll be sad missing her - she's actually very much a Salonista type of person (intellingent, well-conversed and all that if you were in doubt smiley - winkeye), at least if she could be bothered to hang around on the internet... I doled out a smiley - hug and an instant dinner invitation chez SG V which luckily she was happy to get.

I didn't know you had a horsey to worry about at yours, Santra. Seems like there are a lot of them about.

I keep sugar in my pocket, just in case, WA!

It's probably more like a pony smiley - winkeye: After all, we do food ingredients and the theory is that people will keep eating. But the numbers at the moment don't quite add up to the expected top line. Which does sort of mean that there's bound to be some scrutiny of the bottom line... smiley - erm
