David, Twizzlers are a kind of cherry flavored licorice type product. Really, they're just imitation cherry flavored wax sticks.

MR it is sad.

Though I have to admit that my friend says that all the people she met in Iraq were really pleased that Sadam was gone and actually rather pleased the war had happened. She also had to explain about why some people in England were anti-war.

One of her Dad's friends was excuted for being at a party where someone told a joke about Sadam Hussien.

Actually she was telling me that she was thinking of doing her post gradute training in the US because she thinks there's less racism than in the UK in Medicine.

I have to admit I think she's being a bit naive - Asians I know who have been to the US have found far more racism. But maybe I can't understand because I'm white.

MR that lunch sounds smiley - cool! smiley - drool

Oddly enough I had a phone call from my Ex Today who is working for an Organic Food Co-Operative - they're expanding so fast that they can't take on enough staff. Unfortunately they're having a cash flow probelm at the moment so she's getting her overtime play in organic fruit and veg.

Why doesn't she live near me!

*Victory dance for Mr T*

The whole Iraq thing gives me violent moral indigestion whichever way up I look at it.

We now own an icecream maker and a coffee maker and a new wok and some stripy sheets and the new bookshelves (which are gorgeous) and a grill pan and a coffee grinder and a pudding basin (I asked for a pudding basin?) and STUFF. It's like Christmas. I like getting married...

I have taped Super Size Me and will watch it tomorrow. I examined my eating habits. I don't know what to make of them. Breakfast, avocado on toast and an apple. Lunch pasta salad with tuna and cherry tomatoes. Supper, thai red curry with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, no rice or noodles. I haven't eaten any cheese today. I normally eat cheese (goat or sheep's cheese, before anyone starts pointing out discrepancies). Lots of cups of tea. It looks fine to me. Until I grab myself by the ear and bellow 'how MUCH pasta salad?'. I really really do not eat junk food - no crisps, hardly any chocolate, no burgers, no chips (well, once a month or so), no cake, no biscuits, no puddings. My downfall is big helpings. Even a really healthy dinner will sit on your bottom as squidge if you eat tonnes of it. *sigh*

On the other hand I lost two pounds this week (probably lurking under the sofa waiting to leap out as I meander past with a bowlful of the latest new icecream maker experiment... Bang goes the 'no puddings').

TERRIBLE

Post 1187

FG

Let's see...

Breakfast, cup of cottage cheese, pink grapefruit, one piece of toast with peanut butter on it, glass of milk, two cups of tea (I like a big breakfast, what can I say?).

Lunch, turkey and roast beef sandwich with raspberry mustard, cheddar cheese and sliced onion. One pear and one of those silly diet sodas.

Dinner, not for a few hours, but it will be kasha with egg noodles and steamed green beans.

DRIBBLE

Post 1188

Z

Dribble doesn't look right.

I've had a bad day today(foodwise), but do bear in mind I'm on revision mode (and I used to gain a stone per set of exams)

breakfast - Red Bull
Lunch - Chips and curry sauce
Tea- Pasta and tomato sauce, and cheese
Snacks - three cans of red bull, two cups of filiter coffee, and some water because I drank so much caffine I got dehydrated.

I might go swimming tomorrow. I don't have to be in Hospital until three.

I found out something odd today.

You know I took a year out? One of my friends from my first year, someone who is no long my friend because he is arrogant, full of himself, and annoying, oh and has wanted to sleep with me for five years, is now working at the hospital I'm working at.

Now for the next module I have to shadow the smiley - doctor who's job I'm taking - and guess who that doctor is..

smiley - grr

This boy has the ablity to say *exactly the wrong thing* that will wreck your confidence. If you have a plan you're exicited about he'll point out the flaw.

I really can't think of anyone I want to shadow less. Actually I can but that's a different matter.

I'm hoping I can swap things around so I can do my shadowing whilst he's on annual leave. I'm so pleased to hear that he's got a place on the pschiatry training scheme - it means he'll no long be working at that hospital when I am.

I'm not really pleased for the patients though, he'll be awful.

If there's anyone who should be a pathololgist.....

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

Breakfast was Chocolate chip cookies followed by Raisin Bran. Lunch was Roast Beef and Cheddar at Arby's, Dinner was Chili cheese dogs.

The kids and I were waiting at the bus stop, in the rain, when this guy pulls over and asks if we need a ride. I, of course, accepted as A was complaining about being cold (she might learn to dress for the weather, I tell the kids every morning what it will be). That is twice in the last 4-6 weeks that the offer of a ride was given by a complete stranger. Weird.

Yes I know its the unmentionable politics but it's all I can think of at 1 in the morning.
Breakfast: toast with chocolate spread
Lunch: very nice, recipe from BF: courgette, canned tomato, garlic and ginger, with couscous.
Tea: green salad (lettuce, half a small green pepper, home made mustard salad dressing.) two ryvita and brussels pate, 1/2 tin of tinned peaches, veg in green thai curry (as BF had made too much) [in that order]
Just now: 2 malted milk biscuits, one anniseed rock slice, must go and make hot chocolate with milk.
Drinks: 2/3 cups of tea and above mentioned choccie.

I find that it really doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you stay below your recommended calorie level. (2000 is a good average, and I try to stay below 1500 - just because I don't watch what I eat on the weekends.

We try to keep junk food out of the house because if it's there, we'll eat it.

> Does anyone have general candy they think I might like? I didn't like Tootsie Rolls...

Didn't like Tootsie Rolls? My goodness... Well, Kat, what kind of candy do you like? Toffee, peanut butter, something with nuts, etc.? My particular favorite is the Skor bar. They say to put it in the fridge, but I think this is just to keep the chocolate from melting off the toffee before you finish eating it.

Hypatia, of course you're hungry. That's not enough food to feed a small bird, much less a human being! Eat something!

For breakfast I had a low-carb bar...crunchy banana split, because I've been craving bananas lately, and they're just so loaded with carbs. And it was really, really good.
For dinner, I'm having an omelette with veggie sausage.
Snacks today included 2 wedges laughing cow cheese and some celery sticks, and oooh! a very interesting raw foods falafel that was made from various nuts. I'll stick to the original, but it was interesting.
Drinks? Diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper, 2 huge glasses of iced chai (no milk) and a bottle of water. I'll have diet coke later.
