Please don't hurry the rain on too much - then it'll just get further on to here in a jiffy

That's a very image-y and apt way of describing online bumping into each other, methinks And I'll subscribe to the SO not enough sleep. Been fighting a PC virus that I couldnt't get identified and couldn't track the entry path of. But what else would disable Windows automatic renewal and try to send clicks to a very weird-looking internet site all by itself and delay most file operations by a black screen of 1-2 seconds?
Did the effective thing and put a three-week old image of my C and D drives on top of the whole things.
Sorry for not dumping that in the computer technology lab. We now return you to your normal programming...

Farewell Majel Barrett Rodenberry. Farewell Number One, Nurse Chapel, Lwaxana Troy and various computer voices across the 23rd and 24th Centuries.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Dec 19, 2008
Good gracious, 7th LED? Latest I've been for ages and so much has happened already! Belated hippo bathday Titania, sorry to have missed it.
for David B's paying stage work.
for GDZ's dad's shoulder, hope it heals up quickly.
Ag, stay at home as long as you need to in order to feel well - your past rants about sniffly co-workers passing on their lurgies should tell you all you need to know on the subject.
Hyp, that system has never worked right since they put it in! Hope it gets sorted soon...ish - and that it takes long enough to mend that you get a nice break in the meantime
Have to say, am a bit surprised at Teuchter's sang froid in the face of Mr T's imminent return - you'd have thought she'd be more excited given how much she's missed him
Still no baby news, although he is now apparently engaged (definitely not engated) so it really could be any day. I *really* hope so as had given up hope of him even being a 2008 baby and I already can no longer walk more than ten paces without needing a sit down and a cup of tea...

* nods and s politely but doesn't have a clue what DD is talking about
I have my fingers crossed that any inclemencies stay away from Heathrow this afternoon.

Good news about the engagement, K - second babies usually do that much later in the proceedings than firsts, I believe.

Majel Barrett was the wife of Gene Roddenberry who created Star Trek. She had various roles in various SF tv and films. In those days the creative contribution of women was not really acknowledged.

RIP indeed.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Dec 19, 2008
My USP man delivered a package that was intended for my office to my house, which I kind of appreciated except that it really was intended for my office even though it was addressed to me. In your case Lil, I would refuse to accept delivery because it puts you under legal obligations that you should not be under.
for Majel Roddenberry (wife of the creator of "Star Trek", and an actress on the series who played the parts that DD mentioned).
"can no longer walk more than ten paces without needing a sit down and a cup of tea"
It sounds like pregnancy is an experience very similar to one of our Atelier adventures. I think the last trip to get a goo spruce ended with us all sipping tea.

Actually, I'm pretty sure we never went ten paces without a cup of tea on any of our adventures.
Deary me, I seem to have Shrodinger control of the fussy blue trews at the moment. I blame the Star, who has given me his cold. This is the first real attack since I got pregnant, too. Got the sniffles a few times but managed to stave it off with oranges. Clearly the hormones are winding down.
*Crosses fingers for the imminant arrival of Spud*
belated birthday greetings to Titania. *Hands over a magic ticket. Let's you spend your lunch hours in the warm sunny resort of your choice. Don't press the orange button*
'Luck and loobrush to GDZ's dad.

Thanks for filling in the details there Ben. It may be almost Christmas but some of us are still hard ar work.
Indeed she was a major player in getting meatier roles for women on the small screen back in the 60s. Along with Gene they managed to smash a few barriers, first interacial kiss being a major one, her being the second in commant in the original pilot of Star Trek etc.

Hugs and luck to all those in need of them.
I hate to be whining about my problems all the time, but really nothing much good is happening to me at the moment. The psych meds they've put me on to try and stop the migraines have 1) not stopped the migraines and 2) given me a delightful combination of stupidity, depression and mood swings. I'm not getting any highs, just an exciting variety of lows.
So it's off to the docs this afternoon to try and get an appointment as quickly as possible, because I'm going down to my parents on Tuesday so if we don't sort this out quick I'll be stuck with it for some time.

Just seen the following Tweet from LaVar Burton who played Geordi La Forge in ST:TNG in relation to Majel.
"Today we say goodbye to a true friend and visionary, who managed to convince Gene that a blind Starship pilot wasn't too kitchy. RIP MB."

I'm working from home today, due to a big snowstorm that is in progress. My daughter went to school today, only to discover when she got there that the schools had just been closed for the day. So, she's back home now with a friend. She has mixed feelings about it - she likes having the day off, but since it was the last day of school before the holidays, she had brought in a bunch of gifts to give her friends. Some of those friends she only sees at school, so it's disappointing not to be able to give them their gifts. Plus, they were supposed to have a pancake breakfast today too, so she'll also miss that.
For me, there's no mixed feelings at all.

I've just been reading about MB's passing on our hosts newspage I'll miss her.
Hope you can get sorted soon, Runescribe
In a very festive mood today - although I can't have *real* festive spirit until after 4.30. I'm taking Annabel's Wish with me this afty for the kids to watch with their cakes and biccies.

The library has heat. I think it's a patch-type thing. We still need someone to actually figure out the controls software. But, we figured out how to overide the software at each individual thermostat. The procedure is a bit dicey and it took several hours to get all of them changed, but we have open dampers and air flow again. We open in under an hour. The main floor is already a balmy 66ยบ, which means the overnight cycle didn't shut it completely down again. Progress.
It's Mr. T arrival home for the holidays day. Yay!!!
Ti, your birthday sounds lovely.
GDZ, I'm glad the surgery was successful.
DD, it's nice that the so relationship is better. It's rough having an upsetlike that right at Christmas.
Ag, hope the coughing stays at bay during the concert.
Kelli, my fingers are crosssed for an early delivery and home by Christmas.
Sol and all others suffering colds, depression, shakes, bruises from fallsand all other various and sundry unwelcome afflictions, hope all are sorted by Christmas.
Lil, UPS routinely leaves packages for me at the library and the odd package for the library at my house if the library is closed. But I think it's legal since they have been given written permission to do so. In small towns, and yours is much smaller than mine, the rules seem to slide more easily than in the cities.
