I would like to push the orange button , but I am at the 'Dungeons of Despair' and am not allowed .

Titania - Happy Birthday! Here is a Very Good Book Indeed. I got a good friend of mine to hand-bind it in good quality silvery linen buckram, and I have embroidered night-blooming flowers and moths on it in shades of grey and lavender.
Good thoughts to all those tangling with medical procedures.
I'm supposed to be going to a concert tomorrow. I shall no doubt cough uncontrollably during the quiet bits. Gah.

Thanks for that link, SGV.
Picture No3 of the China TV building is known by Beijingers as The Trousers.
Managed to get all my Xmas cards written this evening - but totally underestimated the number of stamps I needed. Aren't self-adhesive stamps a wonderful invention? Because of them, only half of my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth: the half I used to lick down all those envelopes.

The UPS woman is now in the habit of dropping off packages at my house if they are 1. to be delivered through the post office or 2. if they are for Lincoln State Monument or 3. if they are for people she knows are friends of mine. Tonight she dropped off the LSM payslip envelope.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Dec 19, 2008
Good night all.

Demon Drawer Posted Dec 19, 2008
Morning!
I would add good as the bf situation seems to have resolved itself to a fine degree last night
However, this morning there was black ice on the road and as a supra-pronater when I walk/run (although I was only walking) the edge of my right foot gave way and I could not prevent the slide so my right hip and elbow are in agony though sans blood thankfully.

Lil, although I know you're in a small town, that's um...illegal. And could get her in a LOT of trouble. You might want to mention that to her.
DD, I hope you feel better soon!

Mrs Zen Posted Dec 19, 2008
Morning all.
for Titania - it's something unimaginably cosy. The reason I know that is that I tried imagining it, and failed.
for GDZ's father. Worrisome times.
DD - what are you doing these days? The last time our pixels crossed you were providing some much needed democratic choice to the people of Scotland.
I SO did not get enough sleep last night. I've decided not to go away over Christmas though - I really need those four days for studying.

Mornin All
Bracing ourselves for a drenching coming over from Ireland. It's our office Christmas lunch today, with built in Secret Santa.
This is the first Crimbo we are not going away for ages, I'm quite looking forward to the lack of hassle associated with travelling at this time of year. Just Me, Mrs WA and the and a large turkey.

Teuchter Posted Dec 19, 2008
WA - make sue you only eat the turkey, not the dogs
Lil, that must have felt like a bit of a slap in the face

I felt slightly strange when I woke this morning and eventually identified the sensation as ... Christmas

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Dec 19, 2008
One of the bestest birthdays I've had for years!
Thanks all for congratulations and lovely and useful gifts... *tries to decide which of the gifts to try out first*
*goes for the dodgy disguise and the butterfly wings*
*hovers*
Birthday was quite astonishing in RL as well - usually only my mother remembers it.
One telephone call, two SMS, four e-mails, company Christmas lunch and company Christmas present - which I decided was my birthday present, so I opened it right away!
And on top of that, we have a departemental 'fika' on Thursdays, so there were home made cookies cake and a posh bought cake and everyone (a dozen or so people) sang happy birthday to me!
*still overwhelmed by all the attention*

Ben I'm still offering the people of Scotland a Democratic choice.
And even tend to blog about it daily these days.

Phil Posted Dec 19, 2008
Sounds like you had a good day there T
Resting is a good plan for the upcoming holiday days. I think I'll be doing that.
WA, I guess we'll be getting that weather from you a few hours after it's passed your way, thanks a bunch
Lil, as has been said, you need to sort that stuff out with the UPS lady. You don't need the hassle of it, or want to get in trouble over it.
Last day of the term here, I don't think there will be much going on (apart from all those students doing their assignments at the last minute).

I'll see if I can hurry the weather through, but I think it will be later this afternoon before we're done with it. Mind you, we'll probably avoid any because of the good ol Gulf Stream.
Teuchter, I bet it's the imminent return of Mr T that's stirring you up

Phil Posted Dec 19, 2008
From the forecast I've seen, if you can keep the weather for as long as possible, it'd be great for me - though not for you if you'll be taking the dogs out for a walk later!

Just been out to move my car and no rain yet, but it's cold and windy, so I assume that if I get away early it will be wet dog walking this afternoon.
