Oh b******s. How come they choose the same name?
I've moved the pit to the, uh, mosh pit. So now my room is back to normal
Still thinking the page is a bit empty. One or two pictures could be fitted in, methinks.

Wow these threads have moved quickly. I had some comments on the blues stuff up earlier, but I think they seem a bit irrelevant now. How's it going?

Yay, you're back
Things have been rocking. I've opened a mosh pit (a sort of spoof on all the cafes and inns and stuff opening up around h2g2) but I won't bore everyone by going through it all again. How you?

Hey Irv. All topics are cyclical or else they drift. Topics in h2g2 seem not to have anchors, but float from forum to forum.
Ah, so your room is back to "normal" again? What's that like?
Anybody hear from Sporky? How's his mum?
Ath Conversation at Lil's
Phil Posted May 28, 2000
Topics drift, especially if you've got a popular forum, like our hostess Lil here.
I think that sometimes the topic drift is that some of the regulars start having a chat in the middle of something else, or as I do play with words. I think it was the fencing article that I and someone else got told off by the author for taking the micky
Not seen Sporky, hope he's not still feeling used as well.

He was genuinely aggrieved over that failure to get due credit.
*scrabbling sound outside door*
Mindspring? *opens door and finds the little unau looking tired, a bit matted and happy*
Right, now I'm setting up the baby gate again. No doughnuts for you till tomorrow.
Have you seen what happens when she eats donuts?

*Explosions and screams are heard from downstairs. Affy runs, screaming, up the stairs, locking the Forum-Containment Unit. Affy jumps behind a sofa*
Oh, don't let it get me! I . . . don't think I'm up to this one.
*Looks around the room*
Drat! This kind of job is right up Ampton's alley. He's never around when you need 'im. Yep, he's back to normal.
Lil, if that . . . thing gets in hear . . . I don't know. You might be used to it, but *I'M* not!
*Whimpers a little and crouches lower behind the sofa, as strange booming sounds can be heard from the CLI forum*

Allo- I am here- for a while. I am still quite miffed, but I could never be angry at h2g2- only the PTB. I'm running around with like a banshee (eeeeeeeeeeeee!) and I've lost track of all time. I just got off watching a Twin Peaks marathon (18 hours+), and I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes (I was only 8 when the show aired [damn damn damn] so I have a lot of catching up to do).. Not much else to say, cept that I'm off to bed and will be on (briefly) in the morning, and then not again for another ten hours or so.
Time, you cruel b*****d you.

*comes out of private apartments*
Sporky, I think you be needing some sleep.
*espies Affi cowering behind sofa*
Affi, I don't think that whatever is downstairs can get through this baby gate. I bought it at the Douglas Adams shop and apparently it only lets in the acquaintance of the owner. Something about overprogramming; it is supposed to not let out a specific entity, like I don't want to let Mindspring get out.
Here, you look at the instructions while I put the kettle on.

Morning all. Lil - I am usually here on Sundays. I work Sundays and take Wednesdays off instead. It's nice and quiet at work on Sundays and I get twice as much H2G ... um ... work done. And it's nice having a day off in the middle of the week when everyone else is working - less crowds around. I have been doing it for years and it works quite well. It also breaks up the work week - the most I work is 3 days in a row.

*comes in through baby gate, making sure it is firmly shut behind him*
Hello all. *helps self to a cup of tea and spies there are one or two Kit-Kats left *
just going to grab a seat for a while and catch up on a few forums.
*opens up laptop and logs on*

I love it when people go all recursive and bring their laptops so they can visit h2g2
I was wondering about making up a sign saying Beware of... for visitors using the stairs, but I wasn't sure what to tell them to beware of.
*puts out Moebius donuts and serves more tea*
*Mindspring raises head and looks speculatively at donuts*
Garius, I had that sort of arrangement when I worked in horses -- took Tuesdays as my one day off. This meant that yardwork was always lighter on Saturdays and Sundays because we had day clients to teach.
Babel, was asking after you at the cafe.

*looks up from 'puter*
Thanks Lil, i've just read the backlog and updated my links.
I won't post too much at the cafe just now, maybe later on this evening, or tomorrow evening, depending on time etc.,
How are you feeling generally?
Ath Conversation at Lil's
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 29, 2000
I was just out to the shops to get some more meds and a couple of donuts as a treat. Generally, it's turning into a good old-fashioned head cold. But I have to go outside and I'm not looking foreward to it. There's frogspawn in the pool! Has to be taken out. And the pool needs chlorine, the hot dry weather just makes the chemicals disappear.
How are you?

Very tired just now. Got to bed at 3am on sat night, then busy day yesterday, followed by friends round for dinner last night.
A touch too much wine, bed at 1.30am, and then back up to get into w*** for 8am. And it's not over yet! more friends round for dinner tonight. It's like busses. None for ages and then two come along at the same time I have seen more friends this weekend than I have in the last 2 months!

Next post after this one, I shall start another thread, I think. I had some competition for an open line to my ISP, so it might actually get busy in a few hours.
I am becoming a recluse. I have several friends IRL within visiting range, oothers in England, and whole bunches here. I suspect that my creativity is in inverse proportion to daily distractions.
