Woke up with a full-blown head cold...how *does* that happen, darnit?
Hypatia, I would report that doctor. Last year when I was in the hospital for my gall bladder, one of my doctors started talking to me throwing around latin terms, and was apparently shocked into being a jerk by my understanding of both latin and anatomy enough to remark that some patients are too smart for their own good, and we should leave the doctoring to doctors. To which I replied that when he decided to stop being an a$$, I would stop being smart...
he he.
Laundry day. Lots and lots of it. I need a nice, traditional wife, I swear.

Just back from Edinburgh - and it's colder down here than it was up there!
Conference was good - great speakers and a chance to catch-up with colleagues. Came back laden with freebies from the trade-show plus a few wee Scottish items, including a Mealie Pudding.
Had a fab time with my daughter - spent a few hours in the spa - doing what the Romans must once have done, without all that strigiling. We visited nine rooms rooms of different temperatures, some of which had aromatherapy scents and marine waters. Bet the romans didn't have a hydrotherapy pool though; J was very taken with swimming outside in Edinburgh - in November.
We had a lovely meal and then went to join the other hygienists at their ceilidh.
were raised to Edinburgh for Ben.
Delighted to hear about Ben's new job
After you spoke about maybe applying for one in Glesgae, I asked J if she wanted a flatmate and she said 'yes' - so that offer's open if anything pans out further north, Ben.
s too for Hyp and Amy
Off to bed now for an early night to compensate for having had 'too much fun'.
Haven't forgotten I promised to scribe this convo - Tartaronne's given me a hard act to follow.

I was disappointed not to get the chance to live in Glasgow again. But a job in the hand, and all that... (hush, ltp).
I'm also really honoured that your daughter would consider a flatmate who is just some mad scatalogical woman you know off the internet.

Try to be a nice guy and you get rewarded for it.
I gave a coat to a coat drive charity sponsered by my favourite radio station today. I recieved two tickets to a Green Day concert for my trouble. I I am not a huge fan of theirs, but I like concerts, so I am going to go see them.

12 loads of laundry washed, 2 still in the dryer, some stuff to be hung up, and I haven't put any of it away, but I feel like I've accomplished something, at least. The rest of my house is still a disaster, but hey.

Had to go see the doc today. I was pretty sure I don't have strep throat and it is true, I don't. I do have a virus of some sort however. I will be staying home from church tomorrow so that I can get some more rest and be able to go back to work on monday.

It's amazing how children make their parents sick...literally. I've never had so many colds as I've had since D went to school.

Just home from the Green Day concert. It beat my expectations handily. It was a really good show over all.
I noted something, however, that disturbed me. Instead of lighters for balad style songs, people raised up mobile phones. That was surreal.

12 loads of washing... I am awe-struck, MR.

How interesting... Mind you, I have used mine as a torch before now.

I would find that rather odd myself, Marv.

I am feeling surprisingly unhungover this morning, following the party last night. I know I had at least four largish glasses of white wine, but H also got me a pint of orange juice and soda. I took a couple of iboprufen before I went to bed and another couple when I woke briefly at around 6ish. I was even compus mentus enough to check the time and that there was a four hour interval between doses. I'm dead impressed with myself for just feeling tired this morning.
Lovely and frosty outside, with sunshine, I wish winters were like this more instead of dull, damp and mild.
Glad you had a good time Teuchter, the spa sounds fantastic, I must try getting to the new one in Bath when they have finally got it all sorted.
Another for Hyp, I feel she is in need of more.

I need a new dictionary!
Strigiling? Scatological? - not even online dictionary on slang gives a hint.
I'm pretty sure scatological has something to do with scat (nonsense syllabels in jazz) or scatty (mad).
Do I get points for trying?
Nice experience you had, Marv, with the donation.

Surreal is the word, indeed. . I think cellphones and many of their (ab)users are a pain in the...
I'll rant about that some other time.
Today is the nationwide collection in favour of fugitives - this year Dafur in warstruck Sudan. 1,8 mio internal fugitives, most of them starving. UN estimates that 10.000 wil die every month. So why spend money on weapons?
