Anyone want to grade a my midterms for me? I'm rather, ahem, put out by the quality of my students midterms. I've had far too many florid responses that said nothing whatsoever.

I am in trouble again with my teenager. I won't go ranting here but all the advises are very welcome at F55310?thread=510218

Hi Hati
I wrote some advice in the thread - and have some more about setting rules (for instance of coming home) and how to keep them .
But right now my foods smells a bit like charcoal.

We're having one of those absolutely perfect autumn days. The temperature is hovering around 70ยบ F, the sky is blue and filled with puffy clouds, the sun is shining. I took my lunch hour and went for a walk with a friend.
F was scheduled to have a flu shot next week. I got a call from his GP's office that none of the vaccine that they ordered arrived. I have no idea where to get him a shot. There's no way he can stand in a long line somewhere. This really concerns me, as I doubt if he would survive a bout with the flu. And since I work with the public, I'll be exposed to it. What a fiasco.

We've had a series of nice days here, too, but it grows ever colder at night. What I love best about both Spring and Autumn in the Bonito Valley are the winds that blow out of the west. Yang air! It is welcome to me after all those years of living in the Green Swamps of Florida, but I can understand how it gets old for the long-term residents watching their livestock fly by...
I'm not going to be good for much until after the election. Please watch this space.

It's a beautiful day here, too, but I've got no voice, and if I move too fast, my stuffed head makes me dizzy. I really wish that I wasn't one of those people that can't sleep when the sun shines. As soon as I open my eyes and there's light, I'm up. I really hate that.

At least your having decent weather, here in Nodnol it's been hammering it down all day.
As for flu jabs, I've never had one,
My GP reserves them for those who he regards as being "at Risk" which would obviously include F.
over here they hold stocks in reserve for people that need them I'd have assumed that the "public health" people do the same in the US.
His view is that the rest of us are better off putting up with it as in his view the vaccine is not very efficient (apparently it can only protect you from some of the various flu viruses and if you catch one that it doesn't work on theres no benefit)

Well, tonight is the first night of snowmaking. I got the call at about 1300 hours that I needed to be up there and ready by 2100. I hate short notice things.

The local news said tonight that there is a great possibility of snow in the Salt Lakr Valley come morning.
In other news, I added nearly 100 songs to my novelty collection tonight.

9-1 to 9-4, fire up Willow Draw...
9-4 to 9-1 Copy, water is on it's way...
9-4 to 9-1 Umm, Dave, the pump blew up and is on fire.
This was an interesting night. The giant 60Hz 480 volt 1000Hp motor that drives the Willow Draw caught fire tonight. Mikey (house-mate and buddy extraordinaire) was turning on the pumps and I was monitoring the pressures when the motor caught fire about four feet from my face. We turned it off and ended up going home after less than an hour. What a night.

Were you singed, Marv? That's awfully close to be to a mechanical fire.

I do hope you are ok, Marv.
I think I need to find what happened to my life! I'm now involved in writing a weekly article for the in-game Guild newspaper. Dead flattered to be asked though.
