I'm 'Avalanche' apparently - would be more fitting if I were to live further north...

I am currently waiting at a hospital for an xray to see if I have pneumonia or not. I am getting a bunch of meds as soon as I get out of here to try to get this taken care of.

I'm either Whiteout or Red Eye depending on my input. And I'm Lost as to what I am actually answering...

Oh, dear, Marv. Pretty serious-sounding. I do hope you get well soon.
And GDZ. Get well too.
And me. I'd like my shoulder to stop being stiff and painful please. It's making my job difficult. Gah. Shoulders. Pointless stupid objects.
The weather in Nodnol has been so very beautiful these past few days. Warm, sunny, the breeze sweet and clean and possibly even vaguely floral. It'd all be air-freshener perfect if it weren't for the gigantic pile of dog-leavings a dear kind neighbour couldn't be bothered to encourage his Hound of the Baskervilles NOT to leave on our very door-step. Ahhh, Nodnol, the tightly-knit friendly community thereof.

This round of Xrays confirms pneumonia. I am on new antibiotics and will be gettign a nebulizer to try to help my breathing. Right now I just feel like utter crap.

I'm glad you're getting proper medical attention, Marv, and hope that you feel better too, GDZ.

I hate going to the doctor (No offense Z). So I must actually be sick.

I'm pretty sure that pneumonia counts as actually sick, yes.
People used to come to this part of the U.S. to get away from lung ailments like pneumonia. I've never figured out why they thought it was a good idea to bring everything that was causing the problems with them.

Mornin All
Marv, get well soon and take care of yourself, if you don't nobody else will.
What a glorious Winter morning. The dawn sky was all deep purples fringed with rose and yellows. Crispy cold and warm dogs bouncing around welcoming another day.

Marv, I hope you feel a good deal better very soon
And GDZ too.
On the subject of dogs and their leavings ...
I knew someone in Glasgow who had the same problem. A left something every evening, right in front of their gate - while the owner nonchalantly held the other end of the lead and looked everywhere except at his pet.
The guy got so fed up that he placed the leaving in a paper bag, took it round to where the dog lived and handed it to the owner, saying "Your dog left this in front of my house. I thought you might like it back."
It never happened again.
Where I lived in Scotland, horses use to leave things in the middle of the road. It was a bit of a battle amongst neighbours to be first out there with a fork to glean the leavings for ones rose bed.
Do excuse me. I appear to be talking **** this morning.

Horse's poo has a much more pleasant smell than dogs. Perhaps due to horses eating better things.
.
Marv, I understand that with that sort of condition laying flat too much isn't recomended and propped up is better with changing sides to get rid of gunk from lungs. As far as I am aware plenty of water helps too.

Get thee well Marv, pneumonia is certainly sick enough to go to the doctor. And to you GDZ.
If horses leave droppings in the road through the village then it'll probably have a car drive over it before it can get picked up.

Takes up the cudgels for responsible owners.
All you have to do is keep a plastic bag in your pocket to pick up the poo. And if you care about your dog's health, the same as us humans, you can tell a lot from the condition of said products. Healthy dog poo isn't particularly obnoxious.
Apologies to any Salonistas about to embark on breakfast.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Feb 13, 2008
Phew, what a scare I had last night - and this morning.
I mislaid my glasses!
I was watching TV last night and fell asleep half-sitting - and when I woke up my glasses were gone!
They were not on (or in, I ripped out everything) the sofa, the table, the floor, the carpet, the side table...
...nor the toilet, nor the freezer...
...and my front door was locked from the inside and my shoes and coat and keys and gloves were in the same spot I had left them when I got home yesterday.
But it soon became obvious that I must have been sleep walking...
Panic, hysteria, stomache ache...
Today, I took the day off from w*rk to search through all my belongings (can't see the numbers on the buses without glasses so wouldn't know which one to take to get to w*rk).
Cupboards, drawers, pockets, bed, towels, fridge, closets - you name it, I searched it. It didn't help that I had to stuck my nose into everything in order to actually see something.
And just now, when I pulled out my chair and sat down, in order to ask you guys to suggest places where to look, I heard a .
And there they were - my glasses!
Not sure where they fell down from, since I had searched my computer desk more than once - I think they were stuck beneath the seat of my chair (where the levers and stuff are).
I never, ever want to go through this again - GAAAAH!

That's the problem with losing glasses, isn't it Ti! You can't see to find the glasses you lost. Gah.
At least you weren't wearing them on your head at the time.
I've had a spate of losing things recently and was reduced to having a foot-stamping tantrum when I couldn't find my passport last week.
I hate that feeling of not being in control of my stuff
All the owners I know around here are very responsible pooper-scoopers
