Yeah, apparently the Templars were actually innocent of blasphemy. Do you think they now get their valuables and land returned to them? I don't know what the Maltese government would have to say.

I'm afraid to ask why you've got an evil grin smiley after "water sign", Lil. Is it fit for a family-friendly website? Will it shift the conversation to "down there"? And what's the fuss over a Nighthoover all about?

So many questions, and it's only 12:17pm on a Saturday. I guess I'll call the Heart Association's grounds crew first thing on Monday to complain as well. smiley - silly

Hypatia, I have not. However, CRMS at UCLA has. And thus, I actually will have access to it. Although really, I think the cost is ridiculous.

The only really important thing about this transcript is that it is the original transcript. Most of the legitimate research done (I don't count the men who wrote "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" as legit, mind you) has been done from various and sundry accounts from witnesses, or from the letters that have gone thru.

Malcolm Barber has already done extensive work on the subject:
http://www.amazon.com/Trial-Templars-Malcolm-Barber/dp/0521672368/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-9542274-4173747?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192301363&sr=8-1

Although I don't know that I agree entirely with his premise --that they were too powerful and threatened the French king, and that Clement V was too much of a wuss to counteract Philip -- I do like that he makes it clear that they were largely innocent of any heretical charges, and that this was very much about politics.

I read that the copies are painstaking reproductions of the original, down to the stains on the pages. I would imagine that would run up the price.

*Pause*

*Runs back in* When I shout 'we won', I mean the English have beaten the French, by the skin of their immensely lucky teeth, at the World Cup Rugby semi-final. Wheeeeeeee! *runs back out*.

Well I just watched the last ten minutes of the game and yup, Jonny Wilkinson's foot still works smiley - smiley
We went into the city for a wander round this afternoon and there were many fans of the ovoid ball game, though the 13 men a side variety as the Super League Grand Final was to be played this afternoon at one of the big stadiums near here. Seems like the Tykes won that one.

Well done Scotland for their win in the round ball 11 a side game. I'm not sure many people expected them to be topping the table in a group with France and Italy smiley - smiley

I'd pay more for a transcription of the text, really. In English, preferably. Medieval latin clerial script is horrid.

Quick Nighthoover explanation:

Way back someone registered under the name of "Nighthoover" and posted a few things that no-one replied to. Nighthoover complained that people wouldn't talk to him and left. There is now a jokey religion based on the idea that Nighthoover will return. To some of us the joke has been stretched well beyond the point where it ceased to be funny.

I had two women behind me in church who gossiped most of the time while we were going up to get bread and wine, and even kept talking through the following prayer. Only minutes had gone since we apologised to God for "the bad we have done and the good we have not done," but I think I was already failing on the "love your neighbour" part.

I'm with MR on preferring a translation; I doubt there's much reason for wanting a facsimile of the original, or were the Inquisition in the habit of illuminating the lettering and putting in little pictures of Baphomet?

I went gundog traing this morning only to find, when I got to the rendezvous, that myself and another lady were a mere one week early. So me and the smiley - dogsmiley - dog enjoyed a nice walk in a plantation and they found a pond for their Sunday bath.

I'm feeling happy about the rugby win-listened to the last 20 mins on the radio.

For some reason I'm feeling shattered all the time lately-not enough sleep I think.

My favourite ingredient for adding to things is a dry pesto mix-useful in bolognese and pasta with cheese sauce.

The Vatican records sound interesting, as does that book.

Denmark lost to Spain in soccer and we are out of the WM - or is it the EM next year?

I listened to most of the match on the radio - it gives some very different images - and background knowledge - than tv.

Now I'll go out and enjoy the last rays of autumn sun.

Sig. S. and I have been working on the practical details for a local concert on the Spil Dansk Dag - Play Danish (music) Day - the 25 th of Octobre to promote music composed by Danes, whether the lyrics are in English, Danish or some other language - whether the music is pop, rock, classical or something completely different.

Most radio stations set Usian, Britsh, Irish, Canadian and other countries' music aside that day and play all kinds of Danish music.
