It never rains but it pours......
.
I went to main main store cupboard to get drill and openned the door to a spell of mould and damp! This cupboard is stacked from floor to ceiling with 90% om my clothes and posessions and Mr DIY man upstairs has cocked up the amature plumbing he is doing and water has been dripping onto my clothes for what could be weeks. My two nearly new leather jackets are mouldy along with many of rest of clothes!
.
....I just give up, building site flat due to` downstair's noise and now clothes mouldy due to man upstairs poxy DIY!

That's awful!
The leather jackets will be easy to sort out, I've had leather stuff go mouldy before and the mould wipes off with a little warm soapy water (be sure to dry it throughly afterwards!). Make sure you treat the leather with something afterwards to help prevent further mould problems. Dubbin is good, but will rot the stitching if it's linen thread... I use olive oil on my LARPing stuff.

Nice video, Titania. "... by 'accidentally' bowling the odd beamer." You might then find yourself introduced to the terms "unfair play" and "sent off".
for Strangely. I'm glad I don't have your neighbours, but I can't think of any helpful suggestions I'm afraid.
If anyone knows the song Tom Dooley, I've just about got the hang of it on the piano, and playing chords with the left hand as well.

Strangely, I hope your neighbor has insurance to cover your loss.

So Al Gore won this year's Nobel Peace Prize. I wonder if that soothes some the sting of "losing" the Presidency.

Hello LTP, I wish they would shhhh!
.
I have decided to go the whole hog on lounge insulation with slab insulation, however to do one layer which is a little over one inch thick will cost around £160 as each pack is £40 and will need four packs. Whether I use layer after layer of the expensive slabs I have yet to decide as it is surprisingly heavy as compresed and best insulator. I certainly don't want to do it again as a lot harder than I thought with each joist being a differant width apart and not paralel so effectively each piece of insultion is a triangle as needs to be a tight fit to stop most noise. Triangles are very difficult to slide when access is difficult through gaps in floorboards!
.
Thanks for good wishes about mouldy leather jackets and clothes. To be honest I hope clothes will become mould free with washing as insurance claims are a lot of hassle and would mean buying clothes all over again.
.
Mr DIY said he would come down after plumber now there finishes, I do hope so as to be honest if situation was reversed I would have come here before worrying about my flat and questioning how much the plumber wil cost him, rolls eyes, I could hear him on phone upstairs.

Doris Lessing *and* Al Gore?! I think they're making up for their obscure choices the last few years (good, but still -- obscure)

I don't know what could make up for the loss of the presidency and witnessing the administration's policy on global warming...

Extremely odd weather in Stockholm today - a storm sent the dark clouds flying everywhere and nowhere. And sunshine right between.
It was like a kid turning a tap on - and off - and on - and off - and... well, you get the picture...
When I was about to leave work, I looked out. It looked as if the rain was pouring down, but the windscreen wipers of the cars outside weren't moving
I went outside, and I could clearly see the rain (and sunshine, creating a rainbow together) but I didn't get wet
Walk half a block, rain - walk other half, no rain - walk half a block... and so on - I've never seen quite *that* level of *local* weather!
Not only was there a not wet rain, there was also a hail storm with the smallest hails I've ever seen - which lasted less than a minute, and then the sky cleared up again.
This is all going too fast for me - I wish there was a slow-motion option...

Mr DIY is beginning to pee me off now as he has gone out for the evening and not even come down to see if everything is ok since I rang him to say water was coming from his flat.
I suspect the reason is he thinks if he comes down money for damage to two mouldy leather jackets, etc might be mentioned despite fact i really can't be bothered with all that. He was greatly comcerned with cost of plumber to him and getting his flat sorted, despite the fact that damage must be minimal at most. Common decency says you go and check if everything is ok if you have caused someone problems!

Strangely, make sure to tell your upstairs neighbour the exact details - some people just have a hard time understanding the results of their own actions...

This is very odd, the woman who owns downstairs flat seems to be away, she looks about 45. There is a youngish girl down there now who sounds fairly young, about 19, indeed she just mentioned her 18th birthday party. I thought she was the woman who lives downstairs daughter until I heard the girl say to Mr Loud voice "When we used to go out". There was a voice of a young girl there last night too, either the girl there now or perhaps another ex girlfriend.
It all sounds a little clandestine, I wonder if the woman who owns flat and is Mr Loud Voice's girlfriend knows she is there while she is away?
