Ooh, thank you smiley - smiley

I can't offer to scribe this thread because of forthcoming Guide camp smiley - sadface Which, just to remind everybody, is going to take place in late August during Very Hot Weather.

Agapanthus

I was safely indoors when the weather started, and also only on the edge of the storm, so though it was very noisy and dramatic, I felt quite cosy. And then S came home early, drenched to the bone, to the bone, I tell you! and rather battered by ice-chips. Thank Bob we didn't have any of the 20p sized ones. He had wanted to lurk in the station until the worst of it had passed but so many people had the same idea he was sort of squooozed out onto the pavement and at that point, he might as well walk home. So he did.

It's July! July! I want to loll in the park eating ice-cream! It's my right to loll in the park in July! If I tried to loll in the park now, I'd be drowned! Aigh!

Also, have been prescribed a medication which can't be taken with another medication I'm on, and have had yet more vials of blood removed to see if I have H. Pylori - did I mention that? - and now I have a raised temperature and I HAVE to go to work tomorrow because I have to finish packing the journals before the bindery van arrives on Thursday morning to take them away and all my colleagues are on holiday... Ohhh, bother.

Did Sol say she was back in the class-room and free of horrid marking for a while? Jolly good.

Fingers crossed for LP's ECG results.

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

Please, everyone, send your rain this way! It's dreadfully hot and dry here, and I'm just seeing the mountains all around going up in smoke. Too many people who believe they have a "right" to do what they want to do, and the upcoming 4th of July holiday, coupled with the lack of rain (driest on record)...

well, you can tell why I'm nervous.

Got my hair done today. It's VERY red (rather than its usual strawberry) and for a limited time only, straight.

LP, good luck with the ECG. It's really quite fascinating to watch.

Ltp hit post 42 again, yay!
.............................
As to the jokes they are OK due to being at the expense of the terrorists, if others had been hurt then of course jokes wouldn't be right.
To be honest I don't give a toss about the terrorists, the fact that they are all doctors or associated is sickening to normal doctors who care about helping people.

It was the first day of summer reading. Remind me again why we aren't supposed to kill children.....it's all a bit unclear to me right now.

Great scribing, Mol. smiley - applause And congrats to Titania for her FTTF mug. smiley - cheers

smiley - hugsmiley - hug for LP and Ag. I am more than a little annoyed that the librarians amongst us are suffering at the moment. I am rather under the weather myself, although nothing nearly as serious as the others. General summer crud. I'm achy and feverish like I'm catching something. Whatever it is, I hope I gave it to all those rowdy kids. smiley - erm

Glad you're back in the classroom, Sol.

Lil, how is the bite?

It is dry here today. Supposed to rain again tomorrow about the time of our scheduled picnic. smiley - cross I am taking devilled eggs, a triple chocolate fudge cake with cream cheese frosting & strawberries and blueberries to make a flag, and the lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, relish, etc for the hamburgers and hot dogs. And something without sugar in it to drink. I really don't feel like baking.

MR I need to see that. I just can't imagine you with straight hair. It does not compute.

On the topic of hair, I'm going to a 1950s theme party on Saturday, and am planing to sport a quiff. However, I do have to establish how to actually get my hair into a quiff- efforts so far have resulted in gneral backcombed floppiness. I'll need to nbuy some kind of hair gel or wax- or possibly just go to the barbers.

My 15 year old daughter is doing a volunteer stint at our library this summer. I made her do it smiley - evilgrin in order to garner some community service for her National Honor Society and future college applications. My ulterior motive is scholarship money.

Let's just say she is already tired of cutting out shapes for craft time.

I vollunteered at a library at 15 so I had something to do. I did not have a job (nor could legally get one at that age) and was quite bored for that summer. It was one of the best experiences of my teens.

Went to bed this morning trying not to think of smiley - spider's . Then woke up with a storm raging outside , i lay there thinking the rain sounded funny and got up to investigate . The back yard was flooded . So i had to don wellies and so'wester and unblock the drain . It was not as bad as i had first thought and a bit of pokeing about with some old curtain track soon got it moving . Then went back to bed .
Well done with the scribing smiley - applause . I definately missed a chunk in the middle somewhere .

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

I found white in my beard today. I must say that I am not happy with this discovery.

I've been finding grey hairs for some time. I'm 25. It should be illegal for me to have grey hairs. Only spoted one in my beard so far, but there are a few about the head, and I am coming to dread stepping into the elevator at work as it has a massive mirror in it.

MR with straight hair? The mind, it reels.

And don't mind me, Hyp, while I help myself to a piece of your cake. Anyone else? ::brings out a cake knife and a stack of dessert plates::

I remember those hairdos, but I didn't know that's what they were called. They can remain part of history, as far as I'm concerned. smiley - laugh Along with the beehive hairdos from the 60's. My hair added several inches to my height. smiley - silly

It just figures that you had to go to Japan to find a proper quiff. smiley - silly

I came into my high school years post beehive. It was long straight hair with a flip at the ends for us. Insanely difficult hairdo that demanded two hours of my day and sleeping in curlers every night. Only geishas had it worse.

And then came ~my~ high school years, where everyone went natural. I had the poker straight, waist length hair. But there were lots of 'fros, curls and what-have-you, too. smiley - peacesign
