Agapanthus Posted Jul 12, 2007
Just checking in very quickly (in bed! Using the lap-top! Coolness!) to say I am all in one rather stiff and sore piece, that they have biopsied everything they could lay hands on while in there, that now we wait for results, but preliminary assessment looked promising.
And the heavy duty codeine-based pain-killers I am on ROCK. Wheeeeeeeee!

I am happy you are in good spirits, Ag. Here's wishing you a swift recovery.

I'm glad it's over with, Ag. Take it easy and let S wait on you. And watch those pain pills. They have odd effects sometimes. They always make me want to read Dostovesky.

*neatly sidesteps politics*
I have no desire to read Ayn Rand, not when there is an entire bookcase of other books I want to read, I must get started on 'The Trial' by Kafka. Somehow my bookgroup thought it would be fun to read it when drunk.
Why?

Ooh I didn't see you there Agapanthus - glad you're home. I hope that you don't feel too bad. Co-codamol is isn't it?

I'd make you a to help with recovery, Ag, but I don't know what effect it would have when mixed with the
you're already on.
I'm trying to come up with intelligent stuff to say about Africa that indicates my agreement that there are many things contributing to the inequality and suffering, and that for things to improve people on all sides are going to have to put their own self-interest aside and concentrate on helping those who need it. Unfortunately I'm not succeeding.

should be fine
If you're on Dicofenac make sure you take something to drink with them, it doesn't have to be 'food', any liquid will do.

Lentilla (Keeper of Non-Sequiturs) Posted Jul 12, 2007
My philosophy has always been 'You broke it, you fix it.' Whether it's foreign or domestic policy, we should be responsible for our own mistakes.
I think that any societal theory, like communism, socialism, or libertarianism, works only because there's a way to enforce it. Human beings are naturally selfish. If we can be convinced that being altruistic is actually beneficial, we'll be altruistic. But that's higher-level thinking and doesn't come naturally to most people.
> first read "The Fountainhead" not long after he decided to become one.
Your husband became a fountainhead?
That was a cool doorknocker, d'Elephant! I want one like that.

Yay! Did you have them reinstall your irony chip while they were there? When will the biopsy results be in?

Thank goodness everyone started posting again. I thought I killed the thread.
Hi Ag! Feeling fine, eh?

The lady in green is my sister, and those are two of her children. And my parents are in there too, but I was behind the camera so my appearance remains a mystery to you all, apart from the baldness that I've lamented publicly before.
I have some backlog to tackle.

We've been walking the dogs regularly, d'E. You didn't leave any dog food though, so Matina sent down to CLI, and they created a kibble from scratch. Zeppo and Gummo both liked it. I hope there aren't any side effects.
