Rhubarb? Lovely. Rhubarb yoghurt's a favourite of mine and you can often find something like rhubarb and ginger jam at a farmer's market. The only trouble is I tend to spread it so thickly it don't last long.

When I were but a lad I lived on a small farmstead for about a year. We had rhubarb growing all over the place and I found it quite good to pull a stalk and eat it raw with a little salt.

Hello, scorpio-witch
Rhubarb and ginger jam! I think I remember talking about it last year ...
We were indeed discharged at 5pm, but I spent the whole day at hospital (a) because we live a 45 minute drive away and frankly it was easier and (b) because DH wanted me there. The operation went OK and I alternated reading Delia Smith's biography with brow-stroking and Being Supportive. I stayed at home today being Nurse. Well, actually, we were both as bad as each other, because I had a molar root scraped out on Monday, so I am in absolute agony and not fit to nurse anybody. And certainly not fit to go to work.
We have also had a water leak this week, which will require us to replace the hall ceiling and redecorate it (fortunately our insurers have agreed to sort this out). And we had a trojan horse virus on the computer, which rendered all websites invisible, and couldn't be sorted out by going back to the previous restore point (I do hope I have remembered all the necessary technical jargon for that to make sense). But this was sorted out by a phone call to our broadband supplier
Still - not a great week so far.
DH is I think concerned that I spend more time with my invisible friends than I do with him. He may have a point.

Sheepishly tries to brush sand under a large cushion before getting a bee from Lil! Hypatia, it will probably be the autumn before my lightweight cassock goes back into teh wardrobe. I find it best not to dwell on that. Fortunately there is lots going on, notwithstanding the very negative popular media perception, lots of good things, which means that the days fly by. All things are relative - of course - and you could probably wait a year or two before booking the Ziggurat of Ur or Tower of Babil as a holiday detination but there are vast tracts of this place where what passes for a normal life in this general geographical neck of the woods is being lived quite happily by a lot of people. Any way - time is a bit Dali-esque so there is enough to be going on with until teh autumn!

I meant to comment on Paypal as well: I like it. It's good to buy stuff over t'internet without having to give your credit card details to all and sundry. As for Lil putting on her site I don't see the problem - those who don't like it can always pay by straight credit card or even some mad ancient method like a cheque or postal order.

Maybe you should alleviate his fears by showing him pictures of your invisible friends... although that might make him even more concerned!

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Jun 20, 2007
It is strange talking about cheques and people thinking they are quite a slow way of getting things but I recieved two seperate parcels from 2 companies today that were payed for by cheques that arrived at companies only 3 days ago which means the the cheques, without guarantee cards, weren't even cleared through bank and goods were sent immediately, on was for around £55 so not small cheques. I have noticed that first cheque purchase from a company is often delayed but after that items are quite fast, perhaps first cheque they ever recieve is cleared first as sort of a account balance/anti-fraud test.
.....the items were a Manfrotto Monopod, small lens case and quick release tripod attachment. I know monopods aren't as steady as tripods but I have tried it and found it quite good, and my tripod is huge and weighs a ton, a monopod is so much light and collapses quite small so easy to carry.
...welcome back PPW.

PWM, nice to see you!
My mum will be here in about 4 hours, and I am remarkably blase about my house. It's actually pretty clean, I just need to vacuum. This is about my least favorite chore in the whole world. I'd rather clean the oven than vacuum (and have).

And I meant to say, Greetings, PWM! So nice to have you with us, however briefly.
*Twitch twitch* Sorry, there's a googly-eyed Cookie Monster watching me, and it's quite unnerving. *Flinch* I like flap-jacks. Will that help?

I'm not here--I'm packing. I'm certainly not eating the last Ghiradelli mint square (actually, since I finished it, I'm *not* eating it...)
Except for a few clothes hanging up, my closet is empty I've not seen the floor in there since we moved in Unfortunately, it turns out that we had mice in there for a bit--lots of shredded paper
Ag doesn't like cookies? *takes Ag's share of the cookies* There--problem solved *munch*

I am packing, too. I'll be off to hitchhike in some Western corners of Europe. With some luck I'll be back in 2-3 weeks. Rhubabrb time should be over by then.
Take care.

Hoo-yah!
*Wilma comes bouncing in like a ninja from a Very Hot Place*
Just had two hours at the son and heir's place of learning, debating ways in which the boys' hedjicayshun can be improved. Umm, I had rather a lot to say
Mol, that's rough... you sound like you need a Break. *hands Mol an automated K*tK*t, made by a morally upright and upstanding manufacturer and guaranteed to provide moments of respite as and when required.
*stops stock still*
Is that the monk? Welcome back, sir, glad to see you so hale and hearty!
*collects her loaf of white bread from Scorp (Thanks Scorp ) and goes in search of sausages*
Oh, before I do that, I very like Paypal too
