Can you hear it ringing at the other end, d'E? If it's completely quiet, I'd say there's something wrong, but if there is a signal going through, I'd say that their CD player broke down

I quite like rhubarb sauce, rhubarb and custard pie, in a crumble, or raw ... My wife can only tolerate it in a pie, with strawberries blended in.

OK, I think I was going to say all sorts of interesting and useful things but I see the rhubarb discussion is still ongoing, so I'll just turn tail and
~W~ Rhubarb-phobic - one more thing to blame on boarding school.. The other being boiled cabbage

Mmmm... rhubarb.
The only foods I actively dislike are peppers (with exeptions made for chillis) and tuna. I even like sprouts.

You wouldn't like my kitchen window-ledge then! I've got 25 of the little blighters growing there now; and they were from the seeds of a pepper I bought in T**co

Cabbage?
I love cabbage - provided it's been shown the steam, from a distance, for a nanosecond. Nothing worse than overcooked brassicas

Ooh I like sprouts too, although my kids call the one fingered salute 'sprouts' now (due to a rather silly finger accident I made when listing the veggies available for Sunday Lunch just after Christmas )

Hello Scorpio_witch, you look like a new person!
I love Rubard Crumble or just boiled Rubard with sugar.

I'd very much like to look like a new person; I'm getting a bit sick of this one
If you would like to get your little body speedily over to my garden you can have all the rhubarb your little heart desires.

I'll eat almost anything once, except mushrooms (allergic!). But there are a few things I'd prefer never to eat again...cooked peppers (love 'em raw, though), canned spinach, and sushi. Particularly sushi. I know people who love it, and it's not the raw fish aspect, but the fishy taste in the rice!

Hi Scorp! Welcome to the Salon
T, I think I could do cabbage the way you describe it... but when it was served boiled to death, revived and boiled to death all over again so the whole school building heaved with the stench till the next day...
... rhubarb I have not been able to re visit. The rhubarb crumble and custard I remember was so vile as to be tantamount to child abuse...
... I do wish I felt the same about sausages in hot white buttered bread
*sigh*

Funnily enough, MR, the only time I'll eat tuna is as part of sushi...

Hallo Scorpio_witch, and welcome to the atelier? Have you had a look round the pictures and floorplans yet? There's a link on our main page, A304354, that will take you there.
I don't like complicated food.

Hi scorpio. Welcome to the salon.
I can choke down strawberry rhubarb pie, but rhubarb is on the list of things I certainly don't care if I ever eat again.
I love cabbage every way except boiled. And I always put it in my veggie soups. My least favorite of the brassicas is broccoli. Again, I can choke it down, especially if it is smothered in cheese sauce, but I could live quite nicely without it. Love cauliflower. Love kale. Can tolerate sprouts. Right now I'd like some home made egg rolls with lots of cabbage. I make seriously good egg rolls. Without any junky additives.
Another food that is the absolute darling of most folks that I can do without is salmon. I prefer almost any other fish. Any you can keep your bleu cheese and goat's milk cheeses.
I would be unhappy if I could never eat mushrooms, MR.

Oh, I used my brand shiny new electric egg poacher this morning. The eggs were absolutely perfect. I felt a bit odd investing in it, but have decided it was a great purchase after all.

>>boiled rhubarb with sugar.
that's a favorite of mine too. yum!
also, i love canned spinach and cooked peppers. can't say i'm fond of the cooked cabbage or sprouts though. although, in certain chinese dishes i love cabbage! i guess it's the boiled cabbage you get around st. patrick's day that i can't stand.
foods i don't like generally fall into the mealy or crisp varieties. lettuce with big "veins" ? yech (which is why the bland iceberg is a favorite). big, cooked carrots? double yech.
Key: Complain about this post
