Files paperwork for leave of abscence, does not want to be counted as Absent without leave. Packs, heads off to VA to hop a Iceland bound C-141 to hop another Air Force bird bound for Middenhall to eventually make Birmingham hopefully before next weekend. Wishes good luck and God speed to all and signs out in hope of yet another lively round of conversation next month....

That all seems an awful lot of effort for a trip to Birmingham!
Mine you if there's a girl involved..

My week of break is over on Monday, but I've discovered that I only have ONE scheduled class (and one unscheduled) and then teaching.
And not only is my house sparkly, but my car has been mucked out, as well.
I took out 10! bags of trash....before you all go thinking I'm a complete slob, most of it was paperwork that I hadn't sorted through in what, six months? Old papers, notices from my daughter's school, etc. And for some reason, newspapers. Lots and lots of newspapers. I also threw away those nearly empty bottles of lotion that I've had for years, etc. Stuff I actually moved to CA! What the heck was I thinking?

Hi Kelli
Grand designs is one of the better of those type of programmes I think. Reading an interview with the presenter recently he was saying how he built a shed/office at the bottom of the garden with straw bales after seeing one of the featured projects using it.
Today has been raining here which is a bit annoying as I was hoping to get out into the garden to do some digging

MR, it is not exactly elegant, but http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ has time zones etc.
Funny thing. The prescription allergy reliefe that I tried to use the other day was nearly worthless, but today I got some OTC allergy meds that are already working.

Kelli:
Welcome to the Atelier. You fit in just right! Your personal history gave my wife a sounding board and hope in her struggle, as well. Good to see you're going to be a regular, not just a lurker!
Okay, one and all, I've hit the Spring Refuel Outage as of 11pm this evening, my first day on shift schedule. I'll likely not 'see' y'all for quite some time; at least two months, while we change out fuel rods and do some MAJOR rennovations to the plant. Wonder if Grand Designs could help us get past using 'Nautical Grey' for our color scheme? We really should have one of those home make-over productions come to the nuke plant and liven things up!

Bye Tamberlaine! Have a good time! And take care, B4.
IM, a thread change is imminent.
It has continued to rain all day, and looks set to continue -- the Rio Bonito is UP and making awesome noises.

*hopes Lil decides to open a new thread right now as it's the only chance I've got this millenium of being first to the new one
Am wide awake at 3.07am, waiting for son to come in from a party

Out after curfew, is he? I always wondered why my parents were so worried...and then my daughter went to her first sleepover. I slept very little that night(although now, it's really nice!)
How the heck am I going to get my daughter's presents wrapped?!

After a very wet and windy night (outside not in) it is a bright, breezy sunny day. It's a pity H has a load of w*rk to do, otherwise a trip to the sea would have been in order.
I love Grand Designs too, and Kevin's office is lovely, he showed it on one of the programmes.

MR - yes he was a tad late . I find that repeated exposure to worrying eventually makes things easier - until I have to factor in something new to worry about as his social life evolves. Last night he was at a party and was being driven home, in a rain storm, by a kid who passed his driving test a few weeks ago. It's a wonder I have any finger nails left to chew!
It's a lot easier with younguns - you still worry a bit when they do things for the first time, but there's another adult in charge.
Hope you manage to wrap everything. What's her heart's delight this year?

"you need to try Matina's m'bougtases and cinnamon buns. They're yummy."
What are m'bougtases? Cinnamon buns sound good, but am suspicious there may be calories in them. No calories for me - only allowed food-free food until august next year...
Oh! There is a partridge in my garden! Funny-looking thing.
Have almost found a wedding venue - it isn't the castle or country house I dreamed of, but it'll probably do. Can't believe how expesnsive these things are. We are funding all this oursevles and set a budget before we started looking. Apparently the average wedding costs 16k, we are wondering (given the prices we've been quoted) how anyone can keep costs down to that. I think I need to sow the seeds for a family fued so we can cross a few people off the list
Hope you had fun flying Z, it is a beautiful day today, ideal for soaring through the skies.

16k ! Think I'll encourage my daughters 'not' to get married.
Have you looked at National Trust properties? It might be possible to have the ceremony in one of their castles or historical houses?
Or - how about having a very small, intimate ceremony - somewhere dead romantic with not too much fuss - then a whacking great party for all the relis and chums later?
I'm sure you've probably tossed these ideas around ad infinitum already.
(I always wondered about the m'bougatses too - but didn't like to ask.)

M'bougatses? Also spelled without the m, singular m'bougatsa or bougatsa.
It's a layered cooked cheesecake. The nearest English equivalent is probably custard tart. Can you imagine custard tart in layers made with cream cheese?
And at the Atelier they are completely calorie free, carb free, fat free .
