Yes. Fat-borne vitamins are stored in the body, and excesses aren't peed away. Also - Vit C is a great natural laxative, which is why too much fruit gives you the s.

Right. So if I take too many I'll put on wait and crap copiously, is that what you're saying?
I was just surprised that vitamin pills had the kind of lid I associate with painkillers and domestos...

Egon, I read somewhere that overdosing on tablets that contain iron is one of the main causes of accidental death in young children in the UK.

Really? That certainly would explain it then. It's amazing thre kind of things you learnf rom asking what seem like silly questions.

Even as an adult (allegedly) you need to take care not to take too much iron because it could make you very ill. Too much Vitamin A is a bad thing too. So go easy on the multivitamins.

Matina, may I have a please? I have been fantasising about with semi-skinned 'proper' milk, not that UHT muck, although the taste of it has improved in recent years.
Could you turn the heating up to 30ÂșC? It's chilly in here.

Just five times the RDA of Vitamin A causes hair loss and liver damage apparently . It's just as well polar bears aren't common in Sunderland then .
Oh look, Caer's back . That's a lovely tan. Did you bring some sunshine back with you?

Falling in love? Well, the most dangerous time is when all your friends are getting paired off. That is the time when you can be in love with the idea of being in love, rather than the person you are hoping to be in love with, if you get my drift. I know I have hurled myself into relationships for that reason, but only in hindsight. But with H it was different, I had decided I was going to be on my own and I thought he was interested in someone else, we were friends to start with, the he asked for a .......
On being an outsider: In fact I think everyone is, it just depends on how much you want to fit in and how much effort you put in to it.
MR, if you haven't already decided, go for it! Both of you may be on the rebound, you should both realise that going out together may well only be fleeting so perhaps you should acknowledge that together. On the other hand, you will both be starting the moving on process and, who knows, it may turn into something deeper.
BB, yours is the 5th hard drive implosion I've heard of since mine went. It must be catching
*strays into the water fight section and is relieved that she is wearing her swim goggles and M&S tankini*
Well done dave

We had a fabulous time, Amy, such a beautiful island and it looks as if the sun is staying firmly in the Carribean
The tan would be deeper, if I hadn't used SPF30 and stayed in the shade a lot of the time, but even so it isn't bad is it? Goes to show how strong the sun is there.
*adjusts her goggles and takes a deep breath, dives back .....*

Going back a bit in the thread, yes iron tablets are dangerous to small children. Half a dozen can be a serious overdose for a toddler. There are up to 150 admissions to hospital a year with suspected iron overdose in the under-5's.

*resurfaces for the last time*
I did it, backlog conquered, yay! But then I did walk in an active volcano and flew in a helicopter in bad weather last week, so am feeling almost invincible, if only the jetlag would go away. I feel as if I'm still on The Brig Unicorn (which was in PotC, so I have walked in the of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom) .
Rsponses to second half of blog:
*wonders to herself if she needs testerone patches as well as HRT, H doesn't need a calender he recognises the mood changes*
Men crying; H will shed a tear in a soppy/sad film, happy/sad ending or when I (too rarely) tell him how proud I am of him.
When I started at boarding school, I quickly learnt to hide my emotions, also my mother wasn't very demonstrative and didn't like my father being demonstrative either. So I do find it hard to let my feelings show. This came in useful when though because I couls generally shut the door at the end of a shift without w*rk getting to me. Though there were times when I would be in a bathroom with a patient.
HRT made a big difference to my mood swings, so much as to make me completely docile as the first line above shows. But I have been on it for 8 years now and once I hit 50 shall consider coming off it and trying natural dietary substitutes. I wasn't put on it for mood swings, but it was a happily beneficial effect. I wasn't really aware I was having predictable mood swings, but everyone else was, it seems!
Fat clay?
Sol, I'm glad life is getting under control for you and B. I haven't been to the Ideal Home Show in years, H's idea of purgatory! Too late to see if one of my friends is up for it.
Congrats on the sponsorship, Z Super thin non smokers? *shakes head* Good grief medical students have changed since I was last in a teaching hospital!
Affy5, I would love to see presentations done as showy musical numbers! One reason for not returning to ing is ~having~ to attend lectures regularly and they are soooooooo boring . But I prefer PS2 to GC.
Ben? Ben? Nooooooo....hurry back pleaseeee!
A belated Happy Birthday, Munchkin, I think it coincided with two exceedingly strong margaritas and a bottle of with possibly some food in between in a restuarant in Gros Islet.

Do not fear Caer their was a Ben sighting last night - or I could have dreamt it.
Yes believe it or not medical students are now a hideously healthy bunch I'm certainly the largest person in my year, and I can only think of one person my size in the year above, and that's sort of allowed because he's a foot taller than I am. They all go to the gym - and smokers get concerned talks from friends. Mind you the majority of us (60-70%) are female, and a good many of us are from cultures where drinking isn't a competative sport - so we've changed a lot recently. The old woooo hhoooo lets go and drink twenty pints of larger culture seems to have died a death.
I am happily alone now, (high T!) though I'm mildly concerned about what would happen if I was in intensive care and which relatives would be consulted. If it's my parents I'm on the verge of making and advanced directive saying
"Do not listen to my relatives, don't ask them to come and visit, tell them when it's all over, do whatever you think is right, and can I be an organ donor if I'm brain stem dead please."
