I think that there is some bit rot going on in the DNA code. It has not been the same since the original PTB filtered out of circulation.

I haven't noticed any problems, but I may just not have the required faculties to notice them!
I had snow here. (sorry, but I like it). It didn't settle, though, and stopped after an hour or so.
May our Salonistas who hail from North of the border have a wonderful Burns night!

Refresh problems. Don't talk to me about refresh problems...
Yeah, that's been a sore spot with me, too, over the last few weeks I've gotten back to HooToo. The posting list doesn't refresh like it should when I click and read a thread, then come back to My Space. I spent an inordinate amount of time weeding through old posts [as I was gone for about a year and had to tidy up], because they didn't 'disappear' after I deleted them. Sometimes it was DAYS before they finally dropped off the list, after deletion.
<--notice we don't have one of these yet
Okay, how many of you have suffered at the hands of your own company's staff due to miscommunication? Anyone? Anyone? I know I have...frequently. It's irksome and frustrating and makes me want to pull my hair out, seeing that full-grown adults can't seem to convey their thoughts adequately in order get a job done without confusing everyone involved.
Now comes the scary part. I have to add my name to the list of idiots. I was trying to gather information to assist our Rad Protection department determine what stays in or comes out of our RAM Storage Building, so they can streamline it before our Refuel Outage. Sent this e-mail asking for inputs and provided a link to a tracking spreadsheet from a previous outage. Started getting replies ranging from "I already gave y'all that info" to "That's not my job this go-round" to "What the heck are you talking about." I reread the e-mail I'd sent and realized I'd written it like one of the Goshos I complain about.
I did the only honorable thing I could. I sent a follow-up e-mail with an apology, and with the Why, What, Who, When, How in enough detail to actually help everyone understand **what I meant to say.** I'm getting better buy-in to the project, and everyone now seems to "get" the importance of my request.

How do you know what Gosho looks like? He always resists all attempts to get him to post a picture of himself anywhere on the net!

Hati Posted Jan 25, 2007
I don't like winter. This weird warm thing we had until now was good enough for me. So, everyone in need of snow - I have too much of it. But mind you, it seems to have wrong temperatures attached to it. It would be no wonder if it drops all the way to -30C/-22F coming night. I should not close the cover of my laptop, it may freeze closed. I must admit though that the sunset looked gorgeus - verrry red.

Oh, and just for the record - I have had no problems with refreshing, missing post and such. Could it be skin related?

FG Posted Jan 25, 2007
I thought it was, until I changed from alabaster to goo and still experience the same missing posts problem. System rot is an apt description.

I wondered that, Hati. I've had no problems in Plain.

I hung about for over an hour just now and none of my updates showed. It being lunchtime 'round here, I signed off my browser and nuked some leftovers. Came back, logged onto my internet, linked to H2G2 and--lo and behold!--the updates now make themselves manifest.
Actually, this ain't anywhere near as bad as some other problems the site has seen over the years. Just kinda inconvenient, at this point.
Sunshine on our snow today. Temperatures amenable to wondering out in a sweater, no coat necessary. Is it truly winter?

f5 is a "hard" refresh - i've found that that works when i'm having issues. but lately there haven't been any, thankfully.

Hypatia Posted Jan 25, 2007
F5 doesn't even work for me most of the time. Today (could be different tomorrow) Brunel is working better for me than Alabaster. When none of the regular skins will work, I switch to plain. The BBC tech folks have apparently decided it has nothing to do with them and are making no attempt to remedy the situation.

CTRL+F5 is a refresh that ignores cache on Firefox. If F5 does not work alone, try adding some Control.

...but that's truly only for Control Freaks who like to keep other people under their thumb.

Went to see my about the headaches I have been having. He gave me some meds that should help but, I can't take them until after work because they are narcotic. Doesn't much help me at work.

Lil, how is the new art class? I hope we get to see some samples of the work. I really enjoyed the gallery you set up for the last class.
