I can't keep up with h2g2.....barely managing this backlog and OTD, plus other emails to reply to....
Going to have to neglect all other conversations...
If I do get back to working again, how will I manage hootoo? How do all you full-time workers out there manage?
Can't remember what I was going to say regarding subjects raised in the backlog.....too

Gorilla's dressed as cows? I spent the whole of last year dressed as a pantomime cow in our epic production 'The Mother of all Gooses.' An dressed as a cow! what a wonderful place this is.
Witty, I think you should go blonde.

I seem to spend rather a lot of time on my days-off on H2G2 - because I keep finding new and intriguing parts of the site to visit - like this one. Hope you don't mind me popping in.
Re the hair thing. Why does hair look ok in the mirror before you go out but doesn't measure up when you see the photos later? There's a rather unfortunate one of me at the meet looking like Albert Steptoe in a bad wig!

I am approaching a dilemma too, Witty. My hairdresser is finally expecting a much longed for baby and will be taking extended maternity leave and understandably, as she is self employed.
Because she is self employed and either comes here or I go to her, she is very reasonably priced and I can just about justify the expense of having two colours (blonde and caramel) using esi-meche. This month will be the last time I go to her for colouring for quite sometime.
I shall have to decide whether I pay salon prices, which are the same as Nodnol prices or attempt a DIY approach. I have never had much success colouring my own hair.

Hello, Teuchter, I didn't see you there! Nice to see you in the Atelier.

Thanks, Amy. You have excellent taste. I've been blond, but not for about 6 or 7 years. I've been a light auburn since then, fading to strawberry blond between salon visits. I was thinking a nice shade of caramel might be nice for a change.
I was waiting to see what my natural color actually is, thinking that I just might stick with that. But -- gray is not a color! Especially for a sweet young thing like me.

Welcome Teuchter .
I would be wary of attempting to do anything other than a straightforward single colour at home, Caer. Back in the eighties, my mum tried to redo my highlights using a home kit and it was an unmitigated disaster.

Hi, Teuchter, it's nice to meet you.
I was spoiled, too, Caer. My neighbor used to do my hair, but she returned to uni and is now teaching elementary school. I went from paying $35.00 for a cut and colour to $135.00. I finally came to my senses and realized I had a bout of temporary insanity.
Maybe we could get together for a girls night out and do each others' hair?

DD!
Don't you dare let that so-and-so push you around!

DD!
If you ask me, there are many good reasons to leave. But this is NOT one of them!

Yes, DD, don't let one smellfungus get to you. And besides, it appears that he hasn't noticed the change in threads.

I cannot begin to tell you how ashamed I am that this has happened in the atelier, that anyone has given such offense to Demon Drawer in my salon. I am astounded and dismayed by Oetzi's sheer high-handed destructiveness.
The atelier is closed until Demon Drawer returns to H2G2.

Bloomin' 'Eck!
OK, right, on that case can I have a link to the OTD? As I guess this is going off site for a bit

It would bring me no small amount of joy if that person never did notice.
Full time w*rk? What is this thing? I'm afraid that I have plenty of time for h2g2 while at w*rk.

Maybe a temporarily closed Atelier will shake him.
We try to be polite, we try to understand, we try to look the other way,....*sigh*
Well, I'll just head downstairs to the labs. People, feel free to drop by while the Atelier's shut down. There's always a lot of punch and Moebius Strip Donuts available.
*Heads downstairs to vent his frustrations in the Rec Room*
