NPR had a story this morning about different approaches divorced families take for the holidays. In some, the adults bite the bullet and set aside their differences so that the kids can have a day with all their parents together, although it sounds like it may be difficult to do.

Here is my contribution to the tree this year. They are angels made from scallop shells dusted with pearlescent glitter with pearls for heads. They should sparkle nicely.

The tree is looking so lovely. 
The Carol service has started on BBC2. That's always the start of Christmas proper as far as I am concerned.

I have a good amount of washing up to do before GDZ makes it to my house. Then we will more or less hang out all day. Not sure what we will do, but we will find something to do.

I think I'm almost through with the cooking for today. I had Santa Clause: The Movie, White Christmas and then the same Carol service that Amyis watching on tv to keep me company. Just got to whip the cream for the trifle once the custard has cooled down and peel the veg.
H took some stuff over to No2 son who had the afternoon off from w*rk. He told H that he had been worried about how well he and the g/f would get on with living together and said that he needn't have worried because they are so happy! I do hope they are able to weather the storms together.

Wooh. Gonna have a big Christmas Eve. I've just been asked to help out in the sound booth for my church's community dinner celebration thing. And it seems that I'm going to be going shopping with my family, even though I've already bought everything.
I'm happy with the sound booth, but I was trying desperately to avoid shopping on Christmas Eve....at least I won't be forced into buying something.

I am going to go to two services tonight. The first is the childrens service where GDZ's kids will be involved. The second is the candlelight service at 11:00 p.m. I have never missed a Christmas Eve service in my life.
Dinner is at my Aunt's house tonight, where I will undoubtable find myself in possesion of another frog. My Aunt, Cousin, Sister and Mother seem to delight in giving me frogs. They have not taken any clues that I am at best ambivalent about the collection of frog paraphenalia that they have pressed upon me in my life.
Working tomorrow, weather permitting. So tonight will be the only Christmas gathering I will attend.
