STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Jul 28, 2006
Think an old dog may have been abandoned outside Sainsburies. It was still there after nearly an hour and tied with string to its collar. I asked Sainsburies to give it some water, which they did. At moment it is in shade, but will go back in an hour to ring RSPCA if still there as sun is moving around. Poor old thing.

I called the RSPCA and they said they would treat it as an emergency, but by 3.0pm they still hadn't turned up so I have come home, may go back later to check if still there.....the old dog is getting a little agitated now.

As long as he's got water and a bit of shade he'll be ok.

Oh, kelli! You really don't need that kind of stress right now. I and also hate liars. What is the point of giving false hope to the staff? I just don't get it.

Someone in the supermarket should at least take it some water! Poor old dog.
Kelli, what nasty news, and nastily delivered. You hang in there.

Hang in there kelli. People that lie always pissed me off, especially when it has to do with someone's future.
People are pretty cruel.

OK, I actually went straight back to Sainsburies to wait and have just back (4.15pm) . I asked the supermarket to put water out at 1.30 which they did. I just spoke to supermarket to say I had waited 2 hours and had to go. They said that RSPCA had rung them at 3.opm to say they were on the way, they must be very busy with very hot weather.
It seems that someone had found dog wandering in park and just tied it up outside Sainsburies and went. They said they would look after dog so I went.
There is a slight waryness about reporting suspected dog type cruelty around here. It is one thing doing it in secret on phone but the supermarket security man kept saying it was me who phoned RSPCA, eek. As much as I like to help a dog, a good kicking is something I could do without if dog owner had just left dog there and turned up! This area can be a bit dodgy. But it seems the owner didn't actually leave it there. Still, no one was exactly rushing to give the dog water.
.
Sorry about the job Kelli, clearly you likke your job, sometimes i wish I could be made redundant so I would find something new to do.

they lie because they want to keep people working while they make the transition to their new digs. They are afraid the disaffected workers may screw up their computers. There are corporations around here where the first you know that you have been laid off is you get to work and your password doesn't work on your computer, and then they "escort" you off the premises.
Kelli, something better will turn up.
Hope that old dog gets taken care of soon. It must be so upsetting to be just left when you don't understand what is going on.

dogs are similar to their owners, so if the dog let people give it some water with out biting it then the owner won't do anything either. So strangly strange, you have nothing to worry about.

Kelli, I hope things sort themselves out. You could always get the Atelier librarian contingent to do a simultaneous Lòók in your management's direction. That would get them cowering under their desks for a while.

How about the whole Atelier doing a look. That might turn the management into cowering toads, or little crispy bits strewn about corporate headquarters.

Just watched a programme about Costa Rica vampire bats. But what was really interesting was the necta bat that has a long tongue and hovers back and forwards to feed off the necta like a humming bird!
